I won a free buy in this week to the Tunica satelite event in either May or March ( I was pretty blitzed last night and I need to look at the shit they gave me to figure out which it is).

$4,000. Not a bad profit from a free roll tourny and the seat was still cheaper than what it would have been had he paid upfront for it. All people came out winners!

Yup, that's one hell of a haul from a freeroll.

It wasn't that sort of satelite. It wasn't a sit in go type thing it's an extension of the WPT. One of their tour stops. My friends and I have got in the habit of calling them satelites cause it isn't the WPT it's just part of the "tour".

The entree was $5,000 for the main event so he got a 1k discount. All and all we all came out on top for what we were looking for.

I already have a guaranteed seat later this year (September) at Biloxi also, it's a lot closer and I have a lot more comps to use for me to be a cheap ass there.

dins

how would you of done it? i love action, so i wouldof sold for 3500 or 3000 and get 20% interest in him.

you are a man that likes the action, would you of sold for thr 4k, or get a piece and still get a good chunk of cash?

Good question.

I guess it depends on how well you know the person you're selling the seat to. If you deemed them trustworthy, and knew you'd actually get your money, and you had confidence in dude's ability to win a few bucks, then take a flyer on it.

But then again, I think I'd do just what SCS did -- grab a few GRRRR that was waved in front of my face. It was a freaking freeroll that paid him $4000 cash-money. Outstanding score. I get jazzed when I win a few bucks in a freeroll, much less a few thousand.

i am probably split on this...granted I would love to play in an event like this...but I play in games with a couple of guys that are pretty damn good...I would have probably sold it for $2500 - $3000 and take a 20-30% piece or something...but hey you got $4k that is awesome...

good luck in biloxi...i was just there and stayed at the Beau...awesome...

The Beu is definatly the class of Biloxi and where I like to and normally stay. The IP is pretty nice as well. The Grand isn't worth the hassle since they don't have a poker room anymore. I make it to Biloxi at least once a month.
