Does PC teach dirty football?

take a look at ellison... he could have had a pick, yet he went staight to the head and tried to injure and take d-jax out of the game on the first series.

Image

the angle ellison took insured he wouldn't get the pick.

all he had to do was follow the ball and he would have been off to the house.

someone told him to take d-jax out if you have the chance. these guys play football for a living at $c. they know to lower the shoulder and put the wood to a guy and hit him in the chest to dislodge the ball.

one of the best hitter's ever (ronnie lott) always led with a shoulder to the chest. ellison had no intent to dislodge the ball... he went in as a head hunter.

it was a headhunting shot. i'd have respected it if he went chest-level with the hit but not helmet to helmet. it could've crippled jackson. it boggles my mind that some sc fans call it a clean shot. i'd expect nothing different from sc fans.

it was disturbing how the sc fans almost peed in their pants with excitement after it happened.

Self-reflection is a good thing Ken.

I'd have to agree with you on something... you're without question, the most boring poster on the board, and we could do much better without you.

m2ool,

You might have a valid point about the head-to-head collision, but I'm unwilling to consider it from you because I know it's just sour grapes about the loss.

Really? Sour Grapes was know where in the topic. It was a discussion on how Pete runs his team.

Im very aware that Pete is a much better game time coach than Tedford... it showed during the game.

I find it rather pathetic on the part of posters here... that not one of them/you have addressed the issure, but can't wait to ankle bite the poster of said topic.

The kid appeared to lead with his facemask, and yes, it appears that he went for the hit rather than the pick.

Why are you so sure that Carroll coached that hit into existence?

Yeah, m2, Pete taught him to "play dirty".

Uh huh. Pete's always teaching his charges to make plays that could possibly result in fifteen yard personal foul penalties. Pete doesn't want his players to show poise discipline. He doesn't teach 'em to make the smart play. Nope.

None of his players just like to go blow people up on their own either, nah. It's Pete. He's running a dirty program and teaching 'em to risk penalties 'cause that's how we all know Pete is, right?

For the record, m2, Ellison is just a freakishly HUGE young safety cast in the mold of a Joey Browner: a safety who lives to lay the wood to opponents who foolishly cross his path. Yeah, he could've gone for the pick. Instead, he went for the hit, The Message, which lasts the whole game. Pete's NOT teaching anybody to go in helmet to helmet or head first. Nobody even needs to tell you this, you know better, we both know you do, but you just have to keep lamely spinning against USC...

For the record, Part II: In the same way that you manage to to screw up conclusive video evidence showing that Jarrett never had control of the ball before your defender finally lodged it free, well, look at this video of yours again, closely...

Ellison comes in...he lowers his upper body and raises his ARMS and turns his right shoulder inward, to deliver the blow...Jackson turns into Ellison just as Ellison is bringing his arms forward.

Though Ellison went for the hit rather than the pick he didn't lead with his head. His intial contact was made with his arms and his right shoulder and then as Jackson was crumpling their heads collided.

So far what we've gotten from you is that the refs cheated in USC's favor and Pete Carroll teaches dirty play.

No mention though of how Jackson could've simply gotten up and killed USC the rest of the game. He wasn't hurt. He played the whole game afterwards. He played, sure, but he was a total non factor the whole game.

Football 101, m2. Welcome to physical football, championship football. Ever notice how so many people on this board keep saying USC is the ONLY team in the Pac 10 who plays real defense and real football?

There ya' go. Jackson got knocked the fuck out and then even though he was perfectly good to go he allowed himself to be a non factor for the rest of the evening during Cal's biggest game of the last fifty years. He talked ALL that shit leading up to the game, about how he and Cal were going to go down to L.A. and show the world...

Like I warned you, m2, be careful of what you wish for. Jackson also said he wanted USC. He GOT USC. USC imposed their physical will on Cal in crunch time and Cal...backed...down.

Soft as always.

Classy post though, m2, class as always from you, post defeat. What's next? USC's cheerleaders cheated too, by distracting your few hetero players?

I dont have a problem with going for the hit... just watch the video.

As I've mentioned before in this thread... he had no intent to knock the ball away or try and deliver a good hit (shoulder pads down and a blow to the chest). He went straight for the head with his helmet.

I cant say for sure that Pete told them to do that, as I'm not sure if one of the defensive coaches may have said to do it. It just seems odd that it was the talk of every Trojan fan for the week of the upcoming game.

d-jax made a last minute decison to play at Cal and not $C, and fans and the like still haven't gotten over it.

One of those that was extemely pissed... was Petey.

Oh really?

Link? I was here all last week. I don't recall a single Trojan fan saying anything whatsoever along the lines of, "Yeah!! Pete's got 'em headhunting now! USC is going to go after Jackson's head! Ellison, yeah, Ellison, he'll be the one! That's what his coaches taught 'im! Jackson's a dead man! We're headhunting now, wooohoo!!"

i don't think a team so undisciplined as to preference helmet-to-helmet hits over fundamental tackling would have put together the type of run usc has under pete carrol. douche.

Van, why are you such an idiot???

Do you think this is the only board Trojan fans post on in the country???

Do you really think there are only 4 or 5 Trojan fans that post on message boards in the country???

Not sure that's a fair conclusion...

I'm not denying that the 'culture' is a factor, but that would suggest that sc players would use those tactics on all cal players. but, they seemed to focus on one guy, who just happens to be our biggest gamebreaker and smallest player. as "v" said in v for vendetta, "there are no coincidences, delia... only the illusion of coincidence."

i think it's a fair conclusion. if usc was as dirty as you seem to think they are then they would've given away a couple more games than they have. undisciplined teams with usc's talent typically go 8-3, 9-2, and the occasional 11-0. see miami.

So, m2, now you're going to try and tell me you spent your time last week surfing USC message boards and ALL THE TALK (your words, not mine) from those USC fans was that Pete (or somebody at USC...though you specifically pointed your finger here at Pete) teaches headhunting and that USC's D was going to target Jackson for headhunting under direct orders from the coaches?

THAT's your newly revised contention?

And you wonder if I'M an idiot?? Exactly where do you sell fairy tales like these anyway that people buy such nonsense? You truly expect people HERE to believe crap like that??

You're most of a moron.
