Coach of the year

Should go to Todd Graham of the Owls. In his first season he could have the Owls in a bowl game, our first since 1961, after starting 0-4 with his backup QB. Prior to his arrival RICE was playing teams for the cash, see the three game stretch this season against UCLA, Texas and Florida State all away from RICE stadium.

Even if we lose to SMU this weekend we will still have six wins this season which is a couple of season's worth of wins recently.

Now I know Graham won't win it, so I think that Bob Stoops should. His team has done a great job without their starting QB for the whole season and their start RB for half the season. Had the officials not made those mistakes they would be in the BCS discussion right now.

Thoughts?

if KSU didn't fold up against KU, i'd have voted Ron Prince.

Look, no doubt about it that Graham has done a fine job with practically nothing...and his players actually attend class.

But I think you have to take a hard look at Schiano at Rutgers. Hes brought that program back from the dead.

Tressel has done a good job with a semi pro roster and professional like facilities.

My guess is Graham will have a hard time breaking through like Rutgers has done simply because of the recruiting competition in TX. What with Texas, TX A&M, LSU all taking the lion share of recruits, and U of H taking the Houston area products who dont want to go to class...whats really left for the Owls??

My vote is for Schiano.

I would throw Nutt and Solich in the hat as-well, Ark and Ohio are having two of the biggest turnaround seasons in the country and have a real shot at winning their conferences.

My guess is Schiano will get it though.

I'd vote solich over any coach in conference usa, cripple conference, so going from 2-10 to 6-6 isn't that impressive, we have parity in CFB, you should be close to .500, especially with 1AA games counting towards bowl games and record.

Ohio university and what Solich is doing in his short time is quite impressive, if i remmeber correctly, he totally revamped their total offensive scheme this year, which can be the death of a team in its first year of an offense.

Tressel
Solich
schiano
prince
in that order

No props needed...I'm just living up to my end of the bargain.

To me, it looks like you guys are on a collision course with the Trojans, I'm afraid to say. Give 'em hell!
