Boise State is BCS Bound!!!!

Rack the hell out of Boise State for going 12-0 and qualifying for the Fiesta Bowl!

After the final whistle, quite a few Broncos fans stormed the field peacefully and held running back Ian Johnson on their shoulders with Broncos flags flying and sombreros being put on the players heads.

I'm looking forward to an LSU or an OU kicking Boise's ass.

Congrats to them on their unbeaten...in a perfect world they'd have the chance to play for more than just some silly check. Even if they might not be a "legit" unbeaten, a proper postseason system would allow teams like Boise State to compete with the rest of the D-IA's best. Instead, they're stuck at the little kids' table...sucks for them.

sounds like a sig bet to me.........

BTW, LSU won't be going to the Fiesta bowl....so you're gonna have to pin your hopes on OU...

of course that presumes they can get by Nebraska.....

Felix, yeah I know, that's why I posted "an LSU or an OU." Point being, most experts have the winner of the Big 12 playing Boise in the Fiesta, but we are talking about the BSC and corporate bowl-running asshats here, with a multitude of scenarios, as Van pointed out in the ND-USC thread.

Nothing personal to BSU Fan -- going undefeated is to be congratulated, celebrated and Racked -- but ...
Van wrote:-Big XII winner vs Boise St in the Fiesta (Just writing that makes me laugh out loud.)
Pretty much, yes.

If it's OU, I'd take that sig bet with any spread under 15 in a heartbeat.

Bingo!

Congrats, Felix!

I. Johnson is a horse! Not sure how he got away from the PAC 10.

Er...

Shouldn't this thread be in the Small Time College Football Forum...?

You know, along with the DII thread?

Boise straight-up over OU, Feel-dix? Bwa! Sorry, Pinks, but they ain't gonna let 'em bring the blue field to Phoenix...

THeir thrashing of Oregon State is enough to give them the benefit of the doubt considering how the Beavers beat SC and ended up 3rd in the Pac-10.

They also just completely destroyed a decent Nevada team today. Nothing wrong with a new team trying to prove their worth in a BCS game.

this thread is fuckin' amusing, BUWAHAHAH.
am I hearing correctly? boise st.??? BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA,
nebraska will take that 12-0 and fuck ya right down your fairy throats,
once nebraska secures the big 12 on saturday, we will steamroll into tempe, and introduce boise st. to smashmouth POWER BIG TIME FOOTBALL.
brandon jackson will run the rock down ur faggott throats to the tune of 200+ yds.
let me put it to ya this way,
bosie st. goes into tempe?
and nebraska goes into tempe? on the same football field?

Problem is, OU will likely beat Nebraska.

So, regarding the prospect of Nebraska getting the opportunity to fuck Boise St down their fairy throats in Tempe?

Oregon State was playing HORRIBLE football over the first few games of the season. Portland State would have rolled them early in the year. It was only when the entire fanbase wanted Riley's head on a platter, and the starting QB was getting death threats that they put on a little run, which included USC.

Let's not get carried away with naming OrSU as some testiment to BSU's SoS.

Hell, I'll take this one.

The Sooners use power, smashmouth football.

The 'Huskers use the Bay Area fairy offense.

We're not even going to give you the courtesy of unloading our jizz in your mouths. Be prepared to shampoo gak out of your eyebrows.

(This is just a brad response, Huskers.)
did you say " bay area", cause when brandon jackson is physically running it down your fairy sooner throats, stoops will get a forced enema down his rectum,
again, without peterson, you guys have been totally emasculated,
that means no manhood,

Shit, brad, OU's actually done very well without Peterson.

They're 6-0 without him and they won those six games by an average margin of 27-14. Meanwhile, during that same final six game stretch Nebraska went 4-2 with an average final score of 31-19.

OU isn't missing AD all THAT much because like any Bob Stoops team they're winning with defense. Bill Callahan and Nebraska are rolling the dice by trying to win with offense. Gotta like Stoops and the steadier OU squad over Callahan and his hit or miss Nebraska approach.

Who needs Adrian Peterson when you've got Allen Patrick? Or is it Patrick Allen?

As long as it's not Notre Dame (War Stoops seems to think this might be a possibility), I'm with you on that.
We need a fucking playoff, and an undefeated Boise State team would hang an asterisk on the winner of the MNC game (including an undefeated tOSU), in my opinion.
We do need a playoff, but I don't think Boise State winning out hangs an asterisk, at least not on an undefeated tOSU team. Does anybody give USC an asterisk for '04, when Utah also finished out the year undefeated?
In fact, I wish Rutgers, Ohio State and about six other teams would have finished undefeated this year. What a collossal cluster fuck that would have produced.
Yep.

Utah??

Auburn also finished '04 undefeated. If ever the BCS had to worry about an asterisk (besides '03 :meds: ) it was in '04 when we had an undefeated SEC champ left out in the cold. Nobody gave a crap about Utah's "claim"...

You're right. Forgot about Auburn. I was just responding to 88's take on Boise State by mentioning the team whose predicament most clearly mirrored that of Boise State this season.

Do you ever tire of ankle biting on the way to just plain being wrong??

Terry mentioned Utah. Urban Meyer was bonafide pissed back in '04. Utah's case mirrors Boise St's this year. There is a correlation there and yeah, there were some people who felt Utah had a claim in '04, same as they were going to feel an undefeated Big East winner would have a claim this year.

Felix? are you on crack? HAVE YOU LOOKED AT BOISE's sched. this year?
I did, and you know what I found?
all of their opponents were un-ranked. meaning, that if boise played in the big ten or sec or big 12, they would have some losses.
also,
why are BSU fans hoping you're right? YOU ACTUALLY want a piece of NEBRASKA?
ok, fine with me, cause there is no way in hell your faggott football team is gonna stop brandon jackson from rushing for 200 yds.
OH, by the way, if you put 9 in the box, and dare zac taylor to beat ya? guess what?
he'll shredd your homosexual secondary to pieces.
see, what you FAIL to realize here FELIX, is that boise st. has not played a single decent team ALL season.
for instance, nebraska had to face a few ranked and elite opponents,
usc, texas, texas a+m, kansas st. and in a couple days, oklahoma,
Boise st. on the other hand, has faced nobody, NADA, SQUAT, ZILCH, not a single ranked opponent.
ARE YOU A FUCKIN FOOL?
see, im not saying nebraska faced a sick insane sched. they didnt, BUT, next to the absolute crap that boise had to face, nebraska faced A SICK INSANE SCHED.
thats all im saying,
that boise st played the biggest joke of a sched. in recent memory,
keep in mind, that this nebraska team is just mediocre, next to the nebraska teams of the past 15 years, and, it is my HUMBLE OPINION, that this mediocre nebraska team is still good enough to beat a 12-0 team from idaho, you gay fuckin homo,

it'll be a bitter pill for Nebraska fan to swallow when OU steamrolls the Huskers and then realize they did it without Adrian Peterson.....

Why would you be thinking of them in Glendale? Gonna use telekinesis to transport 'em there? Lord knows Boise St won't be in Glendale themselves, not unless they bought themselves some tickets to watch the Ohio St/USC game. On a serious note, being a Boise St fan and all (or so I presume; again, correct me if I'm wrong), how would you see a Boise St-OU bowl game going for Boise St? Boise St-Nebraska?

Van wrote:

Boise State-Nebraska.....Boise State rolls....Nebraska is mediocre at best comparatively speaking......

Boise State-OU-without Peterson, I think it would be a pretty decent game until the fourth quarter when OU's physical supeiority would take over.....

with Peterson.....it will be a long afternoon for the Broncos defense.....

honestly, I don't think BSU can beat OU with or without Peterson, but I think they can make a decent showing.....at least that's what I'm hoping for......

Boise St rolls one team and loses to the other, possibly quite badly? You really see OU as being that much better than Nebraska?

yes......

Oklahoma should be in the discussion about possible national championship matchups, but for a blown call in the Oregon game.......they're a very physically imposing team that will, in my opinion, steamroll the huskers.....

Nebraska/Oklahoma State......Nebraska/Texas A&M.....

-If it's a Big XII match up we want Boise St to play Nebraska, unless we can still get Nebraska paired up with Cal. m2 vs bradhusker must remain at the top of everybody's X-Mas wish list. If it does come down to Boise St vs Nebraska (with apologies to all the fine Nebraska folk here) we want Boise St to run for 400 yards on Nebraska while shutting down Nebraska's running game and also sacking Taylor seventeen times on the way to a 47-0 "smashmouth" route. Just gotta root against bradhusker, unless and maybe even if he's paired up with m2.

-If it's Boise St against OU we root for OU to be up 87-4 at the half, at which point the NCAA invokes a little known bowl game "mercy rule" and the local networks switch to old Seinfeld episodes.

-If it's Boise St vs ND we just laugh our asses off so badly that we're barely able to focus on the game but we at least know in our hearts that ND losing to Boise St in a BCS bowl game to continue their streak of bowl game ignominy would be the funniest thing to come down the CF pike in a long, long time.
