new clock rules?

i thought they were supposed to speed the game up. it's past 10.00 and i'm still waiting for the second half to start. the telly seriously affects how games are played (duh, eh). what's the use of running a team up and down the field in an effort to wear them out for the 4th quarter when there's two days' recovery time each time chevy makes me listen to john cougar sell bakkis?
