The MIchael Vick Circle Jerk

If I had to listen to the fox commentators make excuses for Vick's inability to play anything close to a QB postion in the NFL- I was going to shoot myself. I don't care if he rushed for 300 yards... HE went 9 for 24 for 84 yards!!!!! (That's a wopping 9.3 YPR) He is one of the WORST QB's playing in the league today. All that running is great and all if you have a passing game to go with it... but they were trying to compare him to Tarkenton, Cunningham and Young today. Horrible!!!!

Coach killa is a great running QB. Its that pass thingy that makes him less than average

He can run and has trouble throwing the ball.. that makes him a RB- not a QB

I dont disagree. However as long as he takes snaps from center I'm forced to call him a below average QB.

And I dont think he could be just a RB and take handoffs. He makes his yards after the D line blows by and the D Backs are downfield.

It's kind of appropriate he plays in the ATL...he's pretty much the Dominique Wilkins of the NFL. He's a lot of fun to watch but I don't think he's got the complete game to lead his team to the next level. He doesn't seem to be receptive to receiving actual coaching so his passing technique will probably never get any better.

As much as I agree that Vick is a sub-standard NFL QB, he was hurt by a lot of drops today.

Nice of him to give the fans in ATL the "you're number one" sign today.

Hmmm, seems strikingly similar to his little brother, or the other way around. What a nice family. And people say the NBA fosters a thug atmosphere.

Jesus Christ why is it when a player has an attitude problem this shit always comes out?

OAKLAND WOULD BE GOOD PLACE FOR VICK TO START FRESH

Here's something to picture as you look ahead to the offseason: Michael Vick in a Raiders jersey.A lot, namely a trade and a lot of salary cap details, will have to happen in the meantime. But this one makes perfect sense, and it may be just what the Raiders need to revive a franchise that's faltering.

The Falcons, who have given Vick every possible chance, will be willing to part with their quarterback. Despite his outrageous talent, he hasn't produced on any sort of consistent level and tensions are at an all-time high in the Falcons organization.

The crescendo may have come Sunday when Vick made an obscene gesture at Atlanta fans who ridiculed him as he walked off the field. The Falcons gladly would take draft picks for Vick, who clearly needs a fresh start.

And what better place for Vick than Oakland, where many a renegade has prospered?

Picture Vick throwing to Randy Moss. Picture Al Davis smiling again.

Even on his bad days, Vick would fit in Oakland. He could wave to fans who speak the same language.

Absolutely! It's the career graveyard of the NFL.

His ego would never allow it, but he'd probably make a pretty mean kick returner. Ron's set for life.....he's got money, he's got herpes....he should try something new. Just one punt or kickoff return.

Because it's part of The Raider mystique.

I just want to point out what a mentally slow QB Vick was as per usual. As he always has been. As I've always said he was.

Vick is overpaid, quirky, black, and has somewhat questionable character.
So .... he receives a lot of criticism.
He's not a bad QB though.
39-27 as an NFL starter.
3-time pro bowler, 2-2 in post season, 1 NFC Championship game appearance.

Vick will become the ONLY NFL QB IN HISTORY to go over 1,000 yds rushing in a single season this year.
Wow.
Rather than rip him for what he ISN'T, I'd rather enjoy him for what he IS.

He's one of the players I can really say that I very much DO enjoy watching.

Since he won't be going to the Super Bowl anytime soon, this question stands to go unanswered. How long has he been an overpaid, quirky, questionable charactered QB?

.

He's a below average QB who makes incredible plays just often enough for people to expect more out of him. I dont think being black opens him up to any more or less criticism.

Uhhhhh on the year....77 pass rating, 52% completion, 19 tds, 11 picks, 39 sacks

He's a gamer alright.

7-7

Take it further.....he has SEVEN games with a 62(bad) passer or lower (2-5 in those games)and FIVE with 96(great) or higher(4-1 in those games)!!!!!!!!!!

He is INCONSISTENT and so is the falcons record.

He will have a great game then a bad one, great then a bad one.....

What does that give you?

7-7

Neck, if you think M. Vick is a below average QB you are high.

The Falcon defenses that have backed him up since he came into the league in '01 have been rated ..... 30th, 23, 32, 14, 22, and 22.

And yet, as I mentioned, despite this he has put up a 39-27 record as a starter.

He's pretty good.

Oh, it's the defenses fault he has a 62 passer rating OR LESS in seven games?

Puh-lease.

Vick defenders will say anything....dude throws at basically a 50% completion. Damn DB's and LB's!!!!

How do you explain him QBing a winning team 59% of the time when his own team's defense has basically blown every year he's been in the league .... ?

Take a shot at answering it.

He's had ONE good year.....that's it. His winning percentage has gone down now DRAMTICALLY these last two years. Why?

Inconsistency.

He will have a great game then a bad one, great game then a bad one.....

What does that get you?

8-8 last year
7-7 this year

Amazing. .500 winning

paulina: Uhhh, thread is about Vick.....thread about Vick......say it to your cryin ryan world title holder self.

Bruce Gradkowski: 66 passer rating, 54% completion, 9 tds, 9 picks, and can't throw a deep ball to save his ASS.

HE'S a gamer alright.

3-7

Right about now you'd have R. Mexico taking snaps for your team over THAT scrub.

You know what they say about throwing stones in glass houses....
Well- One is a rookie.. another is in his 6th year in the league. I know fat peices of shit like you aren't familar w/ healthy things like fruit... so the apples/oranges thing won't work for ya- so try this. Comparing Gradowski and Vick is like comparing Twinkies and Bufalo Wings

Overpaid, quirky, black and questionable character has nothing to do with this.
He's not enjoyable to watch. He looks clumsy and torn between what his role is.
I don't want to watch that in a quarterback. Not enjoyable. He should not have been in the pro bowl.

He didn't deserve to go to the Pro Bowl last year over Eli. I hope to gawd he doesnt back into the Pro Bowl again this year. Since he plays in the shit bag NFC, he probably will though.
