Babs must be dead. You know he/she would be pimping this otherwise.

That is a good hire. He's a good coach.

If Dantonio didn't have roots and prior success at MSU, I wouldn't have been too thrilled about this hire, only because I wanted to see them bring in a guy who has proven it at a major level. But I wouldn't have been upset either. Yeah, yeah, beggers can't be choosers. I guess that applies here. Now, I think he's done about as good a job as anyone could do at Cincinnati, which has never been a football school. Plus, in Ohio you have to recruit against a shitload of other shools considering that state is home to the most D1 programs in the country. I think some people will look at his record at Cincinnati and say MSU underachieved with this hire, and perhaps they did, but 1) I can't remember watching a game or a highlight where Cincy wasn't competitive, and 2) the rest of the field was pretty bleak anyway.

neither has msu, so you have a guy with that sort of experience.. plus he'd been coaching under saban and tressel, so his philosophies towards running a program must conflict with those of previous msu coaches. aside from saban, msu's m.o. has been a lack of discipline, so it's nice to see msu finally go in a different direction. plus, he did manage a defensive unit that had to keep things reasonable for krenzel to "win" them a national championship.

And the Doucherine fans wonder why everyone else finds them to be so obnoxious?

MSU has been a part of one of CF's most notable, if not the most notable conference for years. They've won a national title. They've been to big bowl games. They've sent all kinds of talent to the NFL. Cincinnati is...well, Cincinnati. They're new to the whole "major conference" thing. Simply no comparison between the two.

Oh I know, you were only "joking."

I'm shivering right now because he's got connections with Tressel. If he becomes Sweater Vest Jr...I'll shit myself. Sounds like a good hire for them but he's got some rebuilding to do first. Also has to try to keep Nichol from heading to Norman.

I haven't heard anything recent about Nichol as to his status. Perhaps BtH knows something.

Sweater Vest Jr. isn't likely, anytime soon. Tressel's great, but let's not get carried away...he did inherit a perennial powerhouse of a program that happens to be the premier thing in its state.

State still, and will always have to compete with that other school.

yr quick to pick up on the "joke," hence the beginning of an ellipsis, not to mention the reasonable point that followed. seriously, you have pretty thin skin, especially for how quick you are to throw out toilet smack without much provocation. besides, i don't think i've ever talked actual shit about msu other than pointing out they haven't beaten umich in 84 years. perhaps you can get a psychological feel for a person depending on the team he supports.

if you really want to see obnoxious you should hang around el the next time state beats michigan.

Are you saying douche isn't funny anymore? I dunno. That's one of those low-brow insults that will never not be funny.

I think I stole that one from Dins.

Either way, I'm not exactly shocked a Michigan fan doesn't find it funny.

i don't know, i just don't find much wit in perverting school nicknames. ohh... the osu suckeyes... the msu fartans... the oregon sucks.. the iowa browneyes... i do find the wit in bitchigan since it sounds like bitch again, which does describe much of the fan base. and i suppose douche + buckeyes would be funny. doucheye?

I hear you, but "douche," in any literary form is funny.

Let it be written in the books.

Smack Law.

yr the dumbest motherfucker to ever post in this forum. get back to us the next time u actually see an attractive scU-M undergrad and your overrated football team isn't losing games to its biggest rival or bowl matchups.

last time i was in town, ann arbor was all fat chicks and frigid broads from the east coast. hell of a school. north carolina central has more hotties than scU-M could ever dream about.
