Defense Counsel's (XXXL's) Dream Witness

I was in the trenches yesterday, fighting off a beating from the District Attorney's string of witnesses all claiming that my client allegedly poisoned a co-worker. A felony, PC 347(A). I skillfully persuaded a seasoned DA, back from retirement to reduce this to a misdemeanor on the basis that my client scored high on the armed services exams, and BTW, my client is a juvenile, and this is in Juvenile Court. The DA's offer was rejected, I have an innocent client.
To make a long story short, the third witness called to testify that my client made an out of court admission as to guilt on the felony, came out with the dream testimony of all defense lawyers, the witness says the following: "The statement I signed declaring that defendant admitted to the poisoning is not my statement. My manager drafted my statement and made me sign it." She told me that she would add smart words to make it stronger. What I signed is not what happened."
I looked at the Judge, he fell back in his chair, shocked. I looked over at the Detective sitting next to the District Attorney, he seemed embarrased when he looked my way, his head also fell back as he fell back into his chair. Then I looked over at the seasoned DA, who I respect professionally, his head is nodding, oh no!
It was like television, a defense lawyer's dream and I lived it.......
I kind of felt like Tom Cruise when he had Jack Nicholson on the stand.
It was golden and I won't soon forget it.......
BTW, the evidence fabricating manager is a lying sack of ............. :) You know the deal :)
