Not if OU hadn't gotten fucked in the ass at Oregon, they wouldn't have. Maybe we'll claim 1/2 of the championship if we win our bowl game. That's always cool.
Sincerely,
Fuck all of those teams that actually do that shit... I KNOW we got fucked at Oregon and I STILL wouldn't want to see my beloved Sooners try to do some lame-assed USC shit like that.

Sorry but Mich-tOSU would be a better game. UF is not better than Mich.

It's out of all of our hands...let's just wait to see what happens tomorrow. An early indication will be whether or not the pollsters jump Florida in front of Michigan. That would put the wheels in motion for a Buckeye-Gator title game.

Thank goodness the refs made that call on the onside kick, to offset the 43 flagrant holds that kept that game from being a blowout.
At least the end result came out correctly. What a complete assfucking that would have been, if not for that one call that almost made up for the 43 non-calls throughout the game that kept OU in it.

Dinsy you are a fucking idiot, just shut your mouth and take your 7-5 record to whatever shit bowl game you pulled this year. I mean hell, you went 4-5 in the Pac10, oh that is good. Do you put that on your resume.
Your consitently bad Pac10 refs fucked Oklahoma and you are just pissed because that is your only big "win" this season. Good luck against BYU (I always root against the mormons but you have pushed me to actually hoping they beat Nike U)
Back to the subject at hand, I think FL will be in the NC game but they are not better than UM. However, as much fun as it would be to beet UM again, I look forward to skull fucking Urban.

Nope. I stand by every word of it.
Did you not watch the game?
OU linemen got to do whatever they wanted all game(FLAGRANT holding), U of O got flagged for lesser offenses the whole time.
The officiating sucked the biggest ass in history, but the end result was correct.
509 yards of offense against the "vaunted defense" out front should have told you.
Time has sure skewed the memory of that game. People seem to think that was the only bad call(or non-call) or something. The Ducks were getting FUCKING HOSED all game.
And OU fans continued meltage makes it all worthwhile.

Oklahoma(if they hold on, if not Nebraska) vs Boise State in the Fiesta
USC vs LSU in the Rose
Florida vs Notre Dame in the Sugar
Wake Forest vs Rutgers (if they hold on, if not Louisville
Ohio State vs Michigan in the BCS tile game

Blah blah blah.
But you know what, I'm sure its a lot sweeter to be conference champs and have a legitimate claim to something bigger than being 4-5 in a shit conference where your only claim to fame is phantom win.

Might be Florida in the #2 spot.
If so, USC/Mich is a classic Rose Bowl matchup, no doubt.

It's a win/win situation for CFB fan as long as the Rose is any combo of scUM/SC/LSU. Rock solid matchups.

Here we go again....
RACK UCLA, though, for stirring the pot even more.

Nice matchups, yes...but in meaningless consolation games.

Yeah, quite Marcusesque of me, no doubt.
And "meaningless"?
It's the PAC 10's party.
They invented postseason play Out West.
The next time the Rose is "meaningless," will be "never."

Last year's Rose Bowl wasn't meaningless...it goes without saying. Tell me what is the reward for winning this year's Rose Bowl? It's really no different than the reward for UCLA to Florida State in the Emerald Bowl in 'frisco. The only thing that comes out of these games is bragging rights among the conferences and a bunch of checks being handed out to participating schools. This is why I say these games are meaningless. Add to the fact none of these games start any sooner than 2 or 3 weeks from now...it gives it the feel that it's completely detached from the regular season. 40-50 days off for teams like Michigan and Ohio State until they play next? The insane layoff is another flaw of these games. These are glorified exhibition games.

I'm guessing the players taking the field would have a compelling reason or two to win a Rose Bowl.

The gut says Michigan is better...
The gut says Florida will get the nod, and deservedly so...
The gut says that if Florida gets the nod and then they go on and beat OSU then my first gut was wrong...
The gut lastly says that if Michigan gets the nod Florida will raise holy hell, and rightfully so...and if OSU then beats Michigan again Florida will secede from the Union, and rightfully so.
Worst of all though would be Michigan beating OSU in the title game, leaving 'em stuck at 1-1 with nowhere to go to break the tie and Florida still being shut out.
The BCS is an unmitigated catastrophe. This is the third time in four years where they completely failed to get two clear cut teams in the championship game. Choosing between Michigan and Florida right now is every bit as impossible as the mess we had in '03 and '04.
How on earth are you going to tell Florida that wins over ND and Wisconsin trump a conference championship, including wins over LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and their main rival, FSU? They lost on the road in conference to a very highly ranked team, on a shaky at best call by the refs. Their one loss is barely any worse than Michigan's. Their wins far surpass Michigan's.
Flip side...
How are you going to tell Michigan (who was #2 before USC leapfrogged 'em, and who was #3 this weekend) that they're not #2 now? They're still 11-1 and their only loss still came in a close rivalry game to God On Wheels. Florida still struggled in too-many-too-close-games throughout their season. Many (most?) people still think Michigan is better than Florida.
This is DefCon1 for the BCS. Three out of the last four years! Just...holy crap!

Since there is so much time before the BCS Championship game they should set up a game between Michigan and Florida in a neutral site for the right to play Ohio State.
In all seriousness, I have a hard time potentially seeing a team who did not win their Conference playing for the National Championship.

I agree, Jsc, but I definitely see where Michigan Fan would feel like we did in '03 and Auburn Fan felt in '04. Also, I still have a suspicion that Michigan's better than Florida even though Florida has the more impressive resume and the more compelling argument.
Put it this way: Though I definitely think Florida deserves the shot more than Michigan I also think Michigan would give Ohio St a better game than Florida would.
Blow this shit up.

Jsc810 wrote:Van, this isn't difficult. Florida played the most difficult schedule in the country, played more games than Michigan, and therefore has a better winning percentage than Michigan. Michigan didn't play in a conference championship game and is not a conference champ, and perhaps most importantly, has already lost to OSU.
Easy call: Florida to the national championship game, where they will beat OSU.
If it took three blocked kicks to beat powerhouse South Carolina how many kicks will they have to block to beat a real team like Ohio State?
Florida will be lucky if they are able to beat any of the teams in the BCS not named Wake Forest.
