Congratulations to UCLA

We had a great time at the Rose Bowl yesterday. Tons of booze and a nailbiter of a game, to say the least.

UCLA's defensive line flat-out dominated the line of scrimmage - they played an incredible game.

It is great to see this rivalry become a rivalry again, as much as I'd like to tie the Bruin's 8-game streak. Such is life.

Agan, big props to UCLA's players and coaches. The team that deserved to win yesterday did. Period.

now where's my fucking sig, assholes?

I needed 2 bloodymarys this morning to help deaden the hangover....

1. How kool was it midway through the 4th when both teams huddled en masse toward the field...you won't see THAT on Sundays....

2. As long as Dorrell continues to hire good Assts to cover his weaknesses as a coach, I can deal with it....(we need a new OC)....

3. Both teams come back loaded next year...should be fun...

4. We got a month to trade posts left....for some reason, usc fans don't migrate over to the college hoops forum.... 8)

5. Someone captured another usc cheerleader showing her smarts by cheering for the made extra point by UCLA.....

6. I'm going to take a nap...with a smile on my face....

Because that sport is more unwatchable than soccer, for some dumb ass reason USC hasnt dropped that sport from the athletic department, will be a great day when they do.

The Trojans have won 3 of the 4 games played this year in Ice Hockey though.

I love the guy on the SC board that says he knows Natalie and she's one of the smarter ones and actually knows football.
No dumb ass.....the only reason she's at $C is because she's dumb as a box of rocks but has great tits.

Though my pussy hurts when I say it, I’ve got to give props to UCLA for the beatdown on my USC Trojans. I will now remove my lips from Pete Carrol’s sphincter and begin swinging alternately between the nutsacks of Karl Dorrell, DeWayne Walker, and the UCLA defense.
Among the nutsacks. Don't let him off that easily. :)

Every year it's games like this that make a playoff ala march madness a better idea. A team like USC should not lose a shot at the championship due to one in season loss, and Florida should not be able to vault over another team because said team is inactive and received no points that week.

Even a four team playoff only adds one game to two teams. Hardly an imposition to the schools.

Florida didn't jump Michigan because Michigan was inactive. Florida jumped Michigan because Florida finally completed their schedule and after completing their schedule their resume was correctly deemed the stronger of the two and therefore they ended up with the higher BCS ranking.

Also, USC didn't lose their shot at the title due to one in season loss. They lost it due to that fugly second in season loss, and rightfully so. This USC team now has no right and no argument to play for a national title. They had their opportunity and they failed.

OK, but I don't recall hearing the IF, meaning "If USC loses Then FLorida will pass michigan to play in the championship game.

Was it not clear beforehand that it would happen regardless? I covered this in another thread, but would a USC win or loss have meant that FLA would be 3rd, and michigan would have dropped two spots in the poll?

Yeah, Michigan was likely always going to be overtaken in the BCS standings by a one loss Florida, regardless of what happened with USC.

Bullshit. Florida jumped Michigan because USC screwed the pooch. The sentiment against a rematch, along with Urban Meyer’s politicking is what dropped Michigan to third. If USC had taken care of business, polls would have had it tOSU, USC, Michigan, Florida.

Pat Forde had an interesting column on this:

I doubt Urban's politicking had anything to do with it. I'm not convinced in the least that whining from coaches does a damned thing to change voters minds. I will agree however that a reasonable number of voters switched their vote from UofM to Florida just for the sake of averting a rematch.

Props to Jimmah for the tough sackup. Damn, that loss had to hurt, and bad.
