ESPN's NFL Countdown = A Current Affair

Post by Cicero »

"Mile High Mistake?"

"Is Coughlin's Job in Jeopardy?"

"Who's better, Brady or Manning?"

"Romo the best QB in the League?"

For gawd fucking sakes, could they just break down today's games? There are 14 of them. I am sure everyone is fucking tired of hearing about the Cowboys, the Colts and the Giants every 5 seconds.

They should always open that show with the video of Tom Jackson asking Michael Irvin if he is retarded.

Nah, I like Countdown. I want more in depth stories than just the dry breakdowns of the Raider D line vs the Texan O line.

You can always flip the channel later and watch the Terry and Howie Comedy Hour.

The NFL is a one day a week league while the other six days are ruled by the media. Everything is over-analyzed and over-scrutinized because there are a half-dozen networks/channels talking about the NFL non-stop. This league is perfect for mass consumption because you get one day to watch everything and then the rest of the week, you can yap about it and pick apart every little detail from every play of every game.
