Texas vs. Iowa. I cannot wait for this game. Nothing like beating up on a weak Big 10 school Drew Tate is going to wish he stayed in Iowa.
We are going to fucking Kill you.
Texas 47
Iowa 10

Is McCoy going to be back?
Not that it matters ... just askin'
Even without him:
Tex: 24
Iowa: 13

I could QB Texas to a win over Iowa. Colt should be back. It was a pinched nerve. Practice for this illustrious game starts on the 12th. We need McCoy since Jevan has decided to transfer. Things are looking up. We have 2 good QB's coming in and we get to kick the shot out of Iowa to end a disappointing season.
No offense Mace, it is Jon that deserves this match up. I do remember the Bluebonnet Bowl and Chuck Long. This is a long time coming.

I can't wait for Jon's tour report of what to hit in San Antonio...
would this mean that some of the Iowa girls have to shave their beards (that keep to keep their faces warm) to make that trek south?
Agreed...the Big 12 will own the Big 10 in this matchup...

Damn Mace...tough draw...no matter who ya got; what with Iowa hurtin'..... Up front however..... way to represent ....no one expects shit from JON, unless he's gonna give us his can't miss bowel predictions. He'd be well informed to exclude the Alamo Bowl..........I'm guessing Drew Tate= William Travis in this one.
He's one Texan that's gonna replicate 1836.

The bigger question: will JON start rooting for Texas when he determines that the Iowa players have quit?

Indiana didn't get to a bowl game, so yeah, he'll probably have to.

You guys are too late. JON has surely now turned his attention to DA BEARS...doh!!

What a shitty draw for Iowa. First they back into a bowl they don't belong in(the Alamo is nothing great but middle-tier is too good if you're 6-6) then manage to get Texas as an opponent. It is hard to say for-sure how amped Texas will be but considering how much frustration they should have built-up I think they should come out firing. But Ferentz is a good coach, I think he'll have his guys shaped-up and playing for redemption. I
Texas 27
Iowa 13

How are people saying this is a bad draw for Iowa? They underachieved like nobody could, and finished 6-6. They deserve to be playing in the Roto Rooter Drain Auger Bowl in Gary, Indiana on some high school football field, but instead, they're on the freaking map playing a marquee Texas team, in a pretty damn good non-BCS bowl. Or at least a recognizable one.
I'm not sure a win over the 6th best team from the Sun Belt, is any better than a "good loss" to the former national champs.

The funny thing is, I was going to come on here and claim that Ditka was going to lead the Hawks to victory, and then I read PSUFAN's post........odd timing.
Seriously though, this won't even be much of a game. I think we have a better chance of beating Texas than Taco Tech or Misery only because there is no way in fucking hell this team would get fired up for those teams. The fact that we're playing Texas should give them something to play for.
It was just a season with high expectations that went south fast and once that happens, there's no way to pick yourself back up in the middle of the year (see FSU, Miami, or Michigan 2005). We'll be back towards the top of the Big-10 next year, I have no doubts about that. Kirk Ferentz didn't all of a sudden forget how to coach. Every coach gets one mulligan. Michigan and tOSU are off the schedule next year and we'll probably be favored in all 12 games. That doesn't mean we're going 12-0, but going 10-2 or 11-1 should be the expectations of this team. If they're not, our highest paid coach in the history of college football should probably give back some of that $4 million he is making.
As for this game, I am just hopeful we put out a good effort. If we play hard and lose, that is fine with me. But I've been watching a team not hustle and not give effort all season and that is getting tiresome. I want to win this game, but being realistic about it.......I just don't see that happening. A lot can happen in a month, but I don't think it's realistic to expect a team to go from losing 5 of 6 to mostly poor competition to beating Texas even though this isn't one of the better Longhorn teams they've had in recent years. Going 1,000 miles to watch the Hawks get pounded will suck, but at least I'll get to see Bevo!!
Horns 28
Hawks 14.........unless Ditka carries us to victory!

I just hope Texas shows up a tab bit more inspired than they did the last two games of the season or it will be an epic meltdown. This kind of games scares me in that Texas fans are crushed by shoulda woulda coulda syndrome. This is the worst bowl that a Mack Brown Texas team has ever been to and I can only picture a loss that will be more embarrassing than any other loss the last 5 years.

Ditka is not coming to Iowa. He doesn't have to coach or play for the Hawks to carry them to victory over Texas. He just simply has to be on Iowa's side. And I'm confident he will be. That's why I think Da Hawks will beat the Horns 56-0.

Ditka is so powerful that if he is rooting for a team, that alone will carry them to victory. So all Iowa needs is for him to be on their side and they will win. Just ask Bears fans, they'll tell ya!
