Something has occurred to me here. Consider this:

Image

With all due respect...what is that? A minor league Idaho hockey team?

How does one become enthralled with such a team? How does one move from California...and sever allegiance with any team one has there?

Let's put it this way...in my brief time as a CA resident, I didn't throw away my PSU shirts and hats. I didn't start mooseknuckling the local minor league hockey team, which after a google I find would have been this:
Image

I didn't follow USC, UCLA, Stanford. I didn't don a Clippers hat.

Dammit, I had my teams, and had them good. I attended sports bars at 9:00 am Saturdays, and took in PSU games. I went to Santa Monica to watch Steeler games...in rooms full of Steeler fans, no less.

In fact, my search for info about my teams intensified, if anything.

Is it something about the Cali Sports soul that invites debasement (no m2, I'm not talking about where you keep your renskanks chained to the wall, I'm talking about debasement)? Is there nothing compelling enough to demand fealty, regardless of locality?

Though Paterno's bones may splinter...though Big Ben pitches directly to defenders...though PSU hoops may unendingly SUCK...those are the rafters that I am shingled to.

Dude, you lived there -- it's an entirely different culture. A culture where "ME" takes precedence over all else. And if a cali thibks their image can be enhance by gravytraining something...anything...then let it be written, let it be done.

And this is why the rest of the country hates them.

PSU, count your fucking blessings that you don't live in their refugee camp the state next door. They're quite intolerable.

I mean, you're talking about people who consistantly try to tell me all about the history, geography, climate, and culture of the state I've lived in almost 40 years now...'nuff said. Their arrogance knows no bounds, and part of that arrogance involves gravytraining anything they think might make them appear cool.

It's rather sad, actually. What a horrible way to raise your children.

over 50% of people who live in California were born and raised somehwere else and many carry their allegiances with them when they move to CA.
As for a Cal Native moving somewhere else and supporting the local minor league team where they move, I cant answer that, but it's not like they moved somewhere that will give them an oppurtunity to support the Hockey team from where they are from (Kings or Ducks) unless he goes to Vancouver, San Jose or Denver which are all several hundred miles away

There are 6 million people living in Los Angeles that came from New York, what other city has that? Fuck, what other state can boast of 6 million people from somewhere else moving to there?

One day, people from around the country will educate themselves enough to know, that there is a difference between Northern Mexico/Baja and California.

You see... California has a State Capitol and the most Beautiful City in the Country, and Northern Baja does not.

California has water and trees(tallest and largest in the World) and Northern Baja does not.

California has Lake Tahoe, Mt. Shasta, Yosemite, Mavericks, "Humboldt County", the Top 2 and 3 Academic Universities in the World, and Northern Baja... well they have

Fuck it. This could be too complicated for flyover country.

Let's get back to football, where California has the PAC 10... Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.

doesn't Cali also boast an inordinate amount of queers, huge pollution problems, rolling blackouts, and the raiders to go along with all that beautiful stuff m2OOL pimps?

offensive and defensive players of the year...WOW...how did that work out for you against...Tennessee, Arizona, and USC...

plus you play in a stadium named Strawberry FUCKING CANYON...

Is there acttually a study that shows how many gays are in CA? There are more than 40 million people here and yeah, CA seems to quarantine their queers to certain areas, Frisco, No Hollywood, Palm Springs, but is there a link or an official stat that shows that there is a higher per capita gay population in CA than any other state?
The population problems are from all the tourists and non natives trying to move here
I can think of one black out here in the last 10 years.
The Traiders are 430 miles away from here, that would be like holding everyone in Columbia, SC responsible for what goes on as far away as Lexington, Kentucky or ANYWHERE in West Virginia.

I agree California is a horrible place, now everyone who wasnt born here needs to move the fuck away

I don’t know about stats or links, but based on the Cali residents here, I’d say it must be pushing 80%.

Oregon has a higher percentage of transplants than california. And it's mostly you clowns.

thats cause its cheap as hell to buy a house in Oregon, you go from a regular old tract home down here to a custom on mass acreage in Oregon and not many of the lumberjacks native of the place can out bid you.

Which is why my parents have over a dozen homes in Eugene, Springfield and Ontario.

Yes there is, and most of the gays in So. Cal are yell leaders for your school with their faggy white tennis shorts and cute sweaters.

Don't sweat it, bro...SoCalTrjn just got pissed when you called out his peeps. He'll just drive his moped out to Palm Springs to one of his parents' 36 hotels and take solace in the arms of a fellow 80%er...

Should we take a quick look at what makes... Ohio State fan "white trash"?
buckeye_in_sc wrote:doesn't Cali also boast ,
The only person I've ever heard use "Cali" in reference to California... was a queer on this board from sc, and MTV.

You'll never hear a person from California use that term.

buckeye_in_sc wrote:huge pollution problems, "M2OOOL consistently pimps No Cal..."
San Francisco, has never had a smoggy day in recorded history. But, what the fuck would you know, being "white trash" and all.

buckeye_in_sc wrote:plus you play in a stadium named Strawberry FUCKING CANYON...
Just to add to your legendary status as the board idiot...

... Cal plays in Memorial Stadium.

How is that "Ohio State" education working out for ya?

I'm gonna go ahead and give you the nickname "lightning"

We cool? Bitch

sounds a little like it...White Trash I like it...I can't wait until 2012 or 2013 when we come to Strawberry Fields or whatever and play the urine uniforms...I'll be able to spot you as you will have your little carnival of wind chimes and holding court with all the bearded ladies...

Urine Unis are an upgrade over sebum-ensconced chain mail and patchouli-sodden purple tunics.

m2 is right about one thing there. Nobody here refers to California as "Cali", 'cept for wannabe wiggers. "Cali" is a rap music moniker, with its derivation being from back east...

as bad as the yell leaders are, they are less gay than that red headed prick dancing around ND's sideline in the green plus four pants.

and since when is the use of male cheerleaders an effective way to determine who is more gay? Thats like a guy with a mullet, sleveless camouflage shirt and a hound dog in the passenger seat of his truck calling a guy with a shaved head, camouflage hat and pants, no shirt and the hound dog in the back of the truck "white trash"

Not my idea. SoCalTrjn has been pimping that one for years (used to post as Schmick).

I root for a team that only draws about 10% of its student body from in-state, so why on earth would I want to see recruiting limited only to in state? I'll meet you halfway -- I'll agree to a proposal that requires the ratio of in state/out of state football scholies to reflect the ratio of the school's student body -- and I'll even throw in a 10% margin for error since there are only 85 football scholies at any given time. That will allow my school to continue to recruit anywhere it wants, whereas most of your teams will have to recruit almost exclusively in state.

I'm pretty sure these are the same people who refer to the city by the bay as 'Frisco.

And that just proves that your "buddy" was a fag.
(the Palisades part was a good hint too)
Were you "roommates"?

Actually, it was the other way around...literally.
The facility (Marineland) was purchased by Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich (HBJ) in December 1986, at the time the owner of the SeaWorld ocean park family. Orky2 and Corky2 were moved to SeaWorld's San Diego facility where Corky2 continues to perform under the stage name "Shamu".
