and they didn't have to give up Rowand (yet) in the deal..

I sure did like Gavin Floyd. Was he still inconsistent?

Incredibly.. and it wasn't from a lack of opportunities.. he might just flourish with the change of scenery but the Phillies gave him the chance to be a starter this spring and he was just terrible. He has some major control issues.

So glad he's off the Sox...he kicked the Tigers ass the last three years. 11-2 with a 3.36 ERA from 2004-06 to be exact...

Garcia is an immediate upgrade over Lieber. The Phillies gave up a failed prospect and a AA pitcher for a starter who pitches over 200 innings every year and is capable of at least 15 wins. I'd say they stole him.
