Are you implying it does cause hurricanes?jtr wrote:uh, 88 global warming does not cause earthquakes.
What about jesus? You know if you work in a fairly accurate return date of the big man, the rest of the stuff on your list would be a no brainer.88 wrote:
By the way, I'm personally forecasting an earthquake in California sometime in the next fifteen years that will be a magnitude 7.0 or higher unless we immediately act to curb greenhouse gas emissions. I'm also forecasting major flooding along the Mississippi River within the next ten years unless we reduce our nation's dependence on genetically engineered farm products. And, I'm forecasting a major forest fire in Montana in the next five years unless we immediately stop using the words "felch", "Gore" and "Bizzarofelice" in the same sentence.
Close. Beer is nasty hot and when the power goes out then you're pretty much screwed. A couple of big ice chests full of ice will last you a while if you're making Beam and Cokes. After that melts then you just start shooting the shit straight. My days of hurricane partying are over as long as I'm at my current job. As the head of the IT Dept, I'll be in charge of all the evacuation and backup of company data and vital equipment. Lots of fun. Not.Screw_Michigan wrote:do whatWolfman wrote:oh no !!! whatever are we to do ???

TTB does!!!
stock up on Beam and lots of ice!
get a radio!
CHUG!
CHUG!
woah!!
I was not implying anything, other than 88's theory, made up or real, that because of warming there would be a 7.0 earthquke or any earthquake. Earthquakes have been happening since the earth's creation 500 billion yrs ago, during ice ages and when the planet was just molten lava pools, quakes happen on every single planet and moon in our universe.Dinsdale wrote:Are you implying it does cause hurricanes?jtr wrote:uh, 88 global warming does not cause earthquakes.
While a warmer planet makes for warmer oceans which makes for more severe hurricanes, I'd love to see where someone has any real link to global warming causing hurricanes.
Once again -- just because you tend to believe one side of (what should have never become) a political issue, it doesn't mean you have to slurp up every bit of bullshit that comes out of anyone's mouth.
Niiiiice...Screw_Michigan wrote:good. hopefully this will get stephanie abrams out of the office and into the elements.

Do you suppose that if the insurance industry forecasters predict an active hurricane season in the US, that it might justify raising everyone's insurance rates to cover the impending calamity? Call me crazy, but a forecast of doom has to be an insurance company's greatest gift. Just think what a prediction of relative calm in the Atlantic next year would have done to insurance premiums.
That was pretty darn funny. I'll give you a set of antlers for that.88 wrote: The next thing I suppose you are going to tell me is that hurricanes formed before the CO2 levels in the atmosphere were altered by man's selfish use of fossil fuels. I hate to break it to you, but earthquakes are definitely related to global warming. Have you ever watched a mud ball dry in the sun? First, everything is all happy happy fun fun. But then that mud ball starts drying out due to the heat and cracking. At first, it is a little crack, barely detectible. Some people might even think it is cute and stuff. But don't be fooled. Before long, that crack starts getting bigger, and other cracks form, and that heat starts getting into the core of the mud ball and the bad stuff really starts happening. Think of the Earth as one giant mud ball. Humans have been digging holes in it and causing cracks to form. We have mines, and tunnels and all kinds of places where global warming can get in and start making little cracks get bigger. Its coming, man. Strap your fat ass to something solid, because your world is going to be rocked.

500 Billion years ago? Nice one Jess, even the bible thumpers are closer at guessing the Earths age than you are.jtr wrote:I was not implying anything, other than 88's theory, made up or real, that because of warming there would be a 7.0 earthquke or any earthquake. You hate science, we get it. Now go fuck your stupid self.88 wrote: If a climatologist sits at a roulette table and bets "red" every time... What could possibly go wrong?
