Those are some ugly fuckin' chicks. Holy crap. Even about half of the "hotter" ones have something wrong. 80's hair. Manly face. Their boobs like like the "egg nailed to a piece of wood" bit... Something.

Ew.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't this entire BS Heisman Trophy "presentation," just fucking reek of bullshit?

I mean COME ON.

You're kidding right? Like I'm supposed to actually watch this bullshit, as it happens? (ESPN is replaying it now, as I type this, at 11:15 a.m. CDT)

Are you kidding me?

Aside from the fact the this was decided like two months ago, I'm supposed to actually care?

Nah. ~ Click ~

RF I don't often agree with you but you got it pretty right. Not unlike most espn programs that shit was so forced and uncomfortable that it made it hard for me to watch even though my guy was gonna win. The whole "playing xbox" and the interviews were pretty strained. However, I don't recall a time I ever saw JimmyT cry so the ending was good enough to make it worth it.

The only other heisman show I watched was when Eddie George won and I imagine most people don't watch unless they have a canidate (is that true?). The only reason I forced myself to suffer through was because Troy was going to win.

And oh yeah, I was surprised Quinn finished 3rd. I didn't see that coming. I agree McFadden was deserving but the powers that be were obviously entranced enough by ND to give them a BCS bowl--I just didn't expect them to get off their knees so soon. Still, Quinn had a great year. Had he had a defense maybe things would have been different.

I was surprised that Quinn even made it to the top 3.

In his 2 biggest games of the year, vs Michigan and vs USC he completed less than 50% of his passes and his team lost by a combined 46 points.
If youre going to give him props for how he did vs the Military Acadamies you should have had taken Colt Brennans 72% completion rate, 48 TDs and 8 Ints

Quinn didnt deserve to be there.

The same could be said for his team in the sugar bowl.

I'll second that. And for all you ND fans waiting in the wings hoping your savior coach somehow breaks the streak, well don't get too hyped up because here comes #9.

Here's an article (I won't paste the text here because it is rather lengthy) that considers this from a point of view not ordinarily considered in this forum. I'm not saying I agree with every single point the writer made, but there's definitely some food for thought in there.

Wow, that guy put a lot of effort into something so monumentally unimportant. Good for him.

You have to "get" ND fans to understand why he'd do that. Tongue in cheek, but only slightly.

I “get” that they’re whiny, paranoid, insecure little bitches who think everyone’s out to get them.

The funny thing is that everyone seems to think that there is an inherent favoritism towards ND in the media, where as all of the ND fan base things the exact opposite. As I stated earlier in the year, ND gets far too much praise and far too much criticisim. There is no happy medium with them.

That, in a nutshell, explains the difference of opinion as to a media bias. There is enough positive media coverage that a ND hater who ignores the negative coverage could conclude a pro-ND bias if he overlooked the negative coverage. Conversely, there's enough negative media coverage that a ND fan who ignores the positive coverage could conclude an anti-ND bias if he overlooked the positive coverage.

Truth is, the only media bias that exists, and this applies to the sports media and elsewhere, is a bias in favor of sales. When it comes to college football, coverage of ND sells, regardless of whether it's positive or negative. So while your underlying premise is correct, the bad news is that there's nothing that can/will be done about coverage of ND football. It comes with the territory of being ND.
