This is so depressing.
It just doesn't ever seem to get better.

Tommy Amaker sucks. i can't believe i took his team in the pick'em. but looking at UCLA's games they weren't blowing people out (except Michigan)....so thought the 12.5 was a good gamble.
UM has a really shit OOC schedule. embarrassing, really.

Amaker has to go if they don't make the Dance...he's the only other person in Michigan sports who is less deserving of keeping his job right now. The other being Matt Millen, of course.

anyone who knew amaker from his seton hall days knew he was doomed to fail. amaker can recruit, but he'll never outcoach anyone. he plays a shit non-conf sched regularly, also. ty shine much? fortunately for amaker, he hasn't fucked up enough to deal with that shit again, but you got to give scU-M props for this:
they love getting pounded by top 10 schools by 50 pts anywhere at anytime on broadcast tv. duke, ucla, you name it.

Amaker is horrible and nobody need look further than his 0-10 record against Mike Davis for concrete proof of that. But here's my theory as to why he still is employed. Right now Michigan is paying their penance for the scandal surrounding the Fab 5 et al. In Amaker they have a guy that still is attached to the positive mystique that surrounds the Dook program, has a clean cut image, is clean and brings a certain amount of class to the table. So the university is taking a "see, we don't place such an importance on winning here, we value character and doing things the right way" type of approach. Pulling the trigger too soon on Amaker sends the message that Michigan wants to win at all costs from a PR standpoint and the powers that be want to avoid that. And it's easier to do when the football program is doing well and bringing in fat bank. So they've given Amaker more than enough time and should he miss the NCAA's again this year they'll be able to avoid any negative PR for making a move too soon. Of course if he does make the NCAA's they'll be forced to keep him and be stuck as a second tier Big 10 program for the foreseeable future because the Big 10 is loading up in a MAJOR way and will be THE dominant hoops conference within 2 years.

umich looked stunned that d-1 players could move so fast, or that good teams sprinkle in a bit of offensive flow to their game planning. the only positives about amaker's dribble dribble dribble and stand around is that his players are fresh enough near game's end to cut a 30-point lead down to 20. thank god i don't care much about basketball.
