difference in p4 or pentium d

bought a computer off dell, and picked the p4, processor was 3 ish the pentium d was 2ish.


any differences in the 2?

The Pentium D's are Dual Core processors based on the Presler core.
I just did a cheap upgrade to one of my PC's with a Pentium D 915 2.8Ghz Dual Core processor yesterday.

The Core2Duo is certainly the wave of the future, but using a Pentium D, I was able to incorporate my AGP video card and
DDR RAM.
