Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles?

Both are excellent flicks (both released the same year, 1974). But if forced to take one, which would it be?
I gotta go with Young Frankenstein.

I saw "Blazing Saddle's" at the Northland Mall in Columbus when it was first relased in 1974. Laughed so hard it fuck'n hurt....and it was unrelenting, from one scene to the next. "Young Frankenstein" was great , but BS was over the top.

Both are amazing but if forced to choose one it would have to be BLAZING SADDLES!!!!

Man, this topic is almost a month old and Cuda has yet to weigh in on it.
BS is a far better movie than YF. Far, far better. It had Cleavon and Fat Freddie from The Mack in it.
More laughs too.

I'd rank History of the World well ahead of Spaceballs, but behind the other two mentioned. Not sure I wouldn't rank High Anxiety ahead of Spaceballs.

History of the World was the first Mel Brooks movie I remember seeing. My grandmother had it on laser disc... those big ol' flat white discs the size of albums that you slid in the player during the days of BetaMax. I remember me and my siblings would watch that movie over and over and over and over and over again. We watched it as much as Airplane! (now
that movie was perfection, beginning to end). Gregory Hines was my personal hero. I didn't get the eunuch scene for years.
Young Frankenstein is on a different stratosphere than History or Blazing. Robin Hood was a disappointment; it only looks good in comparison to the travesty Dracula: Dead and Loving It. Spaceballs should definitely be in the number 5 spot over Robin Hood. Spaceballs was awesome, in an Ice Pirates way. It's only flaw was that it was made in the 80s; people shouldn't overlook it, though. I don't understand the hate for it, myself. Combing the desert with an afro-pick... come on, now. 'we ain't seen shit' bwahahahahahah
