^^^^^^^^^^solid post rack you and the domer fans...

Neighbor of mine is an LSU grad and a huge JaMarcus fan...he hopes he stays...if so I think LSU and USC would be preseason #1 and 2 or vice versa...loads of talent...

funny comment about Kal...I wonder IF they will ever get to the next level...I mean LSU buried Arizona and Arizona punked Kal...plus LSU beat UT on a last second TD but beat them nonetheless...what happened when Kal played UT? Oh yeah the Bears are still picking shower rod pieces of out their cornholes...so against common opponents LSU was 2-0, Kal 0-2...but yet Kal will win the National Championship this year...

Solid effort by ND in the first half...wonder why they didn't run the ball a little more in the second half...but hey they brought it for a 1/2 but against a team like LSU you definitely need to bring it for the full 4 quarters...

anyway good game although the announcing left a lot to be desired...

Sam I don't know about ROLL Ohio State...come on now...

Jsc810 wrote:(7) I would rank LSU #3 or #4 in the final poll, with Boise State being #2, and depending on how they play, the loser of OSU/UF game as #3 or #4, with USC #5.

Let me get this straight... I am assuming you are talking about ranking LSU ahead of Florida... because there's no way you could rank them ahead of Ohio St, regardless of the outcome. Even with a loss, Florida would have a better record than LSU, would have beaten LSU, would have won the conference that LSU plays in and you'd still put them ahead of Florida?

You're not a homer. You're to be taken seriously. For real...

Second of all... your take on ND is totally fucked. Unless they start lowering the admissions standards, there's no way they can compete for a national title. They can go on every year... beating up on the service academies and getting blown the fuck out against legitimate competition. I don't see this changing anytime soon... Weis or no. Charlie almost beat USC once. Almost. Other than that, what difference has he made? Same ole, same ole. Get blown out by Top 10 team. Beat up on Navy. Barely beat some average team. Barely beat some other average team. Beat up on Air Force. Get blown out by a Top 10 team. Finish regular season with 9-10 wins and two bad losses. Get blown the fuck out in January by another Top 10 team. Wash, rinse, repeat.

P.S. The only reason ND stuck around in the 1st half is because LSU had benched some of their players for... missing a curfew or some shit. You knew that, right?

Just for a lark...does anyone know of recent specific recruits that ND took a pass on because they were not up to snuff academically?

JSC, congrats. LSU has all the talent to be world beaters when they want to be. Last night, in the second have, they wanted it.

For anyone who wants to take their pound of flesh, go right ahead. ND deserves it. My thoughts are too long at this point to put only in this post, but I'll try to address some of the stuff that has been said in various threads.

(1) Weis is overrated.
Still too early to tell. Is he overrated by the media? Most certainly, but then again, so is just about everything. Weis's main issue right now is that too often he thinks he is smarter than he actually is. He lost his cool last night after LSU made it 28-14 and he went away from the run. That's hard to do when you have WR's who constantly drop the ball. Weis has taken one huge step, as Terry stated before, and has ND beating the teams it should. He still has yet to beat a team they shouldn't.

(2) ND is overrated.
No real argument there. ND will continue to get their ass handed to them until the De-Stanfordization of the program is complete.

(3) ND doesn't have elite talent.
Nail, meet hammer. The two classes on campus that have NFL quality talent are the senior (Quinn etc.) class and the freshman class. The class that will be coming in next year will be very good as well. The problem is that ND has little to no quality players in next years senior and junior class. There are guys here or there, but those classes are awful.

I give credit to most of ND's senior class. They were dealt a shitty hand, and most came through with flying colors. They are great representatives of the university, but they lack something on the field. I won't be sorry to see most of those guys go. A few, yes. But most lack the heart/drive/balls to play at a high level.

This will be a big test for Weis. The entire defensive staff, with the exception of Bill Lewis, should be shit canned and they should start anew. If Weis does not make changes to his staff, that will be strike one for me.

Not as many as people make you believe. The problem was that Willingham was a lazy fucking recruiter who wouldn't go to bat for a kid with the admissions office. When he did, it blew up in his face (Chris Vaughn). Specific examples that I know of are Dwayne Jarrett, Prescott Burgess and from this class, Ronald Johnson and Caleb King. I'm not saying that those kids would have ended up at ND, but ND had to drop them early on or they needed to do some work before ND could take a look at them. I'm sure there are a handful of others, but ND isn't as hamstrung by academics as most think. They just needed a coach who would put in extra work on the recruiting trail and not in the fringe.

I'm sensing some bitterness here... from the ambulance chaser.

Ok, now I'm sensing stupidity from you again, Chipper...

Easy tiger!

Or, should I call you hurricane?

Maybe a horned frog???

I'm not sure anymore... but that's not really the point.

The point is... your wife may be reading this, so I needed to stop you at big.

Have a great day! You longhorn, you!

Auburn will have beaten two Top 5 teams yet are being discounted for losing to the SEC runner-up and their oldest rival.

This is embarrassing for LSU.
You are about as dumb as they come.
You do realize you're playing Notre Dame... don't you? You inbreed motherfucker!

It's not like you're playing a real College Football team.

Real College Football teams don't lose 9 straight bowl games.

But.. you do live in Louisiana, so we'll let your brain fart slide.
Yeah real football teams play their bowls before January 1st.

Real football teams have a 0-4 record against ND, a fake college football team.

Real teams play in strawberry cupcake field and are excited about a holiday bowl win over Texas A&M.

BTW, Cal has been only to one new years bowl since 1960. ND has 12 since 1990.

I'm pointing out the irony in the rankings.

When Russell is "on" LSU can hang with any team in the country, but he just hasn't quite become the "money" qb that constently come-through. If he does come back I see him finally making that step from good, very-talented qb, to qb that takes his team to another level and wills his way to W's. But considering where they are talking about him getting drafted I see him jumping to the NFL.
