I'm sure most of you have seen this article:

Buckeye haters would have you believe that these guys actually
are pretty well compensated via boosters.
"The fact you are given an education and it’s up to you to make the most of it, I don’t feel we’re exploited academically at all,"
Buckeye haters might retort sarcastically here as well.
I'm no Buckeye hater, though - not even close.

Priceless..
Jim Tressel wrote:But no, I wouldn’t say exploited. If that were the case, maybe 18-year-olds would go start a league and see how they do."

They get a free education, $500+ scholarship money a month, free meals at the Training Table and free Nike Apparel. Plus, they get to fuck anyone they want.
I dont feel sorry for them.

For all of the players in major college football that get free rides through school...not many of them play football on the next level. Those players whose football careers end after college are those who would be fools to not take advantage of their free education. A further credit to those players who do go to the pros but set themselves up afterwards by having a post-football career waiting for them and they can be a productive member of society when their football days are long past them. Say what you want about how players might deserve to get paid, they're getting the best of both worlds...either preparing themselves for a prosperous NFL career or setting themselves up a steady professional career like the rest of us. Colleges make lots of money from their football players but they need to realize how fortunate they are to being getting a quality education for free. Regular kids that may be working at the same jobs as them some day have to scrape by to pay for school or have numerous loans to pay off afterwards. These players can either go pro and make millions or if not that, they can move right into a job without any debt from their education and start their adult life with a headstart on everyone else. It's win-win for them.

I love these comments from this idiot:
"We all deserve more money," Ohio State senior guard T.J. Downing said. "We're the reason this money's coming in. We're the guys out there sacrificing our bodies. We're taking years off our lives out here hitting each other, and we're not being compensated for it."
More money? You're taking years off your life is a voluntary thing dumbshit. You don't have to play football. You can attend the university without a football scholarship. Wait, can you even get in without your football playing ability?
this one's good too:
"I've got to admit, sometimes I look in my hand and look in their hand," Florida defensive tackle Joe Cohen said, referring to the Bowl Championship Series.
"I believe players should get a little bit more than what they're getting. I don't want to sound like I'm greedy. It's just reality.
"I believe players should be paid, because I'm broke."
Well, what are they getting that they need more of? If you're broke then you probably wouldn't be in college if it weren't for football. Another fucking genius........If it weren't for football dumb ass you'd probably be working at a 7-11 somewhere serving slurpees.
You don't need to be paid. You're getting enough for free that most of us can't afford, not to mention that we're going to have to pay for our kids to go to college, or for that matter some kids can't get into college with 3X the GPA and SAT score that these geniuses have. So my heart bleeds for you. Free room and board, free food, all the pussy you want, top notch medical care, job connections after you quit playing etc.....yeah, you should get paid.
