Had hopes he'd end up in Oakland.
Oh well ...... Jim Fassel will probably look good in Silver and Black.

He'll bring a fun offense to the ATL...he's gotta know right off the top that he's got to make it work with Vick because it's easier to drop Petrino than it is move Vick. They could come out next year with an explosive and exciting offense or it'll be another episode of a coach and QB butting heads.

If he can't get Vick to be a better pocket QB, then Vick is a lost cause.

I'm convinced that it's a lost cause to try to make Vick a better pocket passer.
He is what he is.
A wise coach will dumb the playbook down and then give Vick a long leash to improvise.
That's where he will be at his best.
Whether or not that 'best' will ever be good enough to really win in the NFL is the question.

Dennis Green, John Shoop, Steve Sarkasian (USC a. coach), Rob Ryan, Mark Tressman, and Jim Fossil are reportedly on the short list for Oakland.
Not exactly an inspiring list but you get what you pay for these days....
The players may be 69ing with Ryan right about now but IMO this team needs dicipline not a fucking best friend on the sidelines.
Rumor has it that Davis thinks highly of Shoop although any Bears fan will ask why.
Sarkasian is only 32 years old - nuff said. I'd give him a long look as O Coordinator but he is just to young for his first HC gig at this level. Especially walking into this mess.
Green gave us the finger a few years back to take the Arizona job, doubt hes coming here now.
Im guessing this will play out like last time. Other teams will take the best candidates and we will be left picking through someone elses garbage trying to find a decent guy willing to work for cheap.

why should hiring a coach be any different than signing players......
