Considering the fact that UF started playing 9 in the box because they were confident that no OSU WR could burn them deep, I say it was a huge difference.

That's unreal...I do recall them getting into a giant pig pile in the end zone afterwards. That's cruel irony he got hurt during the only time they really had anything to cheer about in the entire game.

Football players who get hurt celebrating are morons.
Sin,
Shaq
Good thing that one "great" big game coach had his team prepared to act like they'd actually scored a touchdown before.

but no one celebrates TD's...come on Dins...that is just fucking stupid...
you run back the opening kick of the MNC game and the emotion and what not...don't blame them for celebrating...

Yeah, I guess.
Hey, remember that one time Tony Dorsett injured himself in the first quarter of the Super Bowl because he just couldn't contain that emotion?
Remember Marcus Allen missing 3 quarters of the Rose Bowl because he burst out into song and dance after he scored...what was that...his first career TD?
And what a great player Hershel would have been for Georgia, except he suffered a career-ender his freshman year, since the emotion of scoring a TD against Florida was just too much to bear, and he just had to express it?
SC, that was about the stupidest defense you possibly could have come up with. I guess if Buckeye fans don't demand something better, they don't deserve anything better. The same way Tressel didn't demand maturity and poise from his players...which resulted in a loss.
Make all the excuses you like -- dude fucked up big, and his team paid for it...this is not up for debate. The only thing that is debatable is the level of stupidity involved in excusing it.

And hundreds of thousands of people drink and drive every single day. And 99.99% of them get away with it. That means it's perfectly excusable to be the guy who fucks up and kills someone, right?
I mean, so many other people do it all the time and get away with it, it's OK to fuck up big doing it every once in a while, right?
Exact same scenario, the only difference is in degrees of consequence. No one died when Ginn saw Emmitt on the sidelines, and took the opportunity to make his play for an appearance on Dancing With The Stars...he just hurt his team in a losing effort.

^^^^^
Read the threads...I have given FLA major props...sacked up and admit tOSU just flat got WORE out...
so I offered up my thoughts on a stupid take...my opinion and I know opinions are like assholes...tressel got outcoached...hey nothing SC can do about it...I demand the best...and for 12 weeks tOSU was the best...they didn't show up last night and it showed...
Did Oregon show up for every game? Oregon State? or whoever you are behind?
Look Ohio State lost plain and simple...they celebrated a TD and it cost them their best player...but with the emotion and what not of the game...hey they celebrated. They just didn't have any answers...plain and simple...I refuse to believe that ONE guy took OSU down. Granted he was their stretch option but hey that is why you recruit and have depth...if a guy goes down you put someone else in there to play...
No arguments from SC, OSU lost, I move on and hope Buckeye Nation will as well...

But that wasn't the point at hand, now was it?
The specific topic of disucussion was the (inarguable) stupidity of Ginn's actions. I made no commentry as to your "sacking up," or your thoughts on Tressel's coaching -- since we appear to agree that Tressel didn't have his team even remotely prepared for the game. I saw no reason to, since your statements met the standards, imo, of "sacking up," and "losing with class."
My only contention was with your defense of Ginn's actions. And as far as his stupidity, I'll simply leave it at "the proof is in the pudding." Stupid actions often have consequences, a concept that was well born-out last night...by Ginn being a fucking no-class idiot, which ultimately hurt his team. You chose to defend these actions, which was at stark odds with common sense. Which is why I singled out your take on the matter for derision. And you failed to respond to my derision, and chose to adress other nonsequiturs in regard to the specific tpoic(might want to check the thread title), which is akin to an admission of guilt...when you get called out on a particular subject, changing the subject is not a good response.

Just a point of clarification, the way I saw it when it happened, it looked to me like Ginn was trying to get away from his ready-to-celebrate teammates, but he ran out of end zone. The team then piled on top of him. You can blame to rest of the KO return team, but not Ginn for that injury.

Absolutely fair enough point-of-clarification.
Bottom line stays the same though -- Tressel's team acted like they'd never scored a TD before. And they PAID dearly for their stupidity and lack of class.

C-bus media featured said excerpt video and you could see Gin being chased down by his teammates. Kid that hit him actually slid on the ground before hitting his legs. Freak accident. That's how it happened.

Tressel prepped his team to take out the legs of his own players?
That will stop being funny(outside of Ohio) right around...
never.

Actually, tOSU tackled Ginn a far sight better than anyone else last night.
