Hale-Bop
Nutjobs offed themselves about 5 miles from my house.
Drove by and saw the police tape across the driveway.
Was hoping to pick up a pair of Nikes only worn once.
Crazy Times.

No clear sky in the west tonight here. Clouds and Pacific storm rolling in.

Well, since it's STORM WATCH 2007...because it almost dropped a snowflake as a result of the massive-blizzard prediction, I'm guessing it should be as clear as a bell. Maybe I'll head up the hills to the west if it looks clear out(not that it's ever freaking clear out here in January, but you never know...hell, it's fairly clear right now, despite STORM WATCH 2007). Of course, I'll bring some skank in tow, because I like being knobbed while enjoying astronomy.

RACK you, wolfman.

Believe it or not, if not for this thread, I wouldn't have known to go look in the western sky last night.

That sucker was bright enough that it even shined on through light clouds when they blew through.

I dig checking out the night sky. One of life's most simple pleasures that's often taken for granted. It's like stopping to smell the roses...except the roses at the homestead are between blooms, and aren't due for a few weeks, since the last batch just shrivelled up. So the night sky it was. Even pulled out the binoculars. Scoped out Mars, too, at just the right moment to see a shooting star that looked like it came flying out of Mars itself(which it obviously didn't).

Good night for stargazing, which is a rarity in these parts this time of year. We really haven't been hit with the relentless Blanket of Gloom yet...but it's coming, I'm sure.

Was pretty deece last night, too. Kind of had a little more blue to it than the other celestial lights.

Claer nights are rare here in winter, but with the cold snap, it's been clear as a bell(screw this cold shit...bring back the rain).
