UF to return to number one

Post by T REX »

UF blows USC off the court

and Seth Greenberg continues to coach em up at Va Tech.

USF should have never let him leave.

Pretty solid core of teams within the top 6-7 with

UF - losses to Kansas and FSU
UNC - losses to Gonzaga and Va Tech
Sconsin - forgot who they lost to
UCLA - very tough
OSU - losses to UNC, FLA, and Sconsin (not into moral victories but if they are going to lose to anyone might as well be those 3 squads)
Kansas - yeah they lost to Oral Roberts but destroyed Okie State and beat UF...

gonna be a awesome tournament if these teams stay healthy and continue to get better...

(wants another shot at FLA - damn it I need redemption somehow!) LOL

I hear ya....the only thing I can say is that Brewer did not play vs FSU and was semi-sick vs KU.

I would love to get KU in the tourney. I think UF blows them off the court. UF was a little lax in the beginning....now they are starting to fire on all cylinders.

It is so hard to repeat but anything less than a Final Four will be a disappointment.

Well tOSU is still finding their way with Oden...sometimes the perimeter guys just stand around waiting...Oden is there defensively...but offensively playing with 1.5 hands until his wrist is 100% is a hindrance...

Hopefully with the tough non con schedule (going to FLA and UNC) and the fact they are still green and getting used to Oden...they will be a very tough out...Matta is experimenting with lineups hopefully they get it right come tourney time...

good times ahead...

Sweet 16 or Elite 8 would be about right for this squad...

The guy is a monster. The word isn't timid but he tends to stand around a lot, agree? He is a man among boys. I know you'll hate this but he's the number one pick next year.....no doubt about it.

He left on his own. He had 7 years to do something here and he didn't get the job done. He never had a C-USA record better than 9-7 and we played in the much weaker of the 2 divisions then (Memphis, Southern Miss, Houston, UAB, Tulane and later TCU). He more than wore out his welcome by the time he actually left. This is also about the time of the season when his teams would start to go in the tank, so I will be interested to see if he can keep this up.

He's had 3 plus years at VT, but he finally earned that job this past week.

I never thought he had the support of say Bobby Paschal.

Oden needs to be more assertive at the offensive end...he plays great defense and against UT was the man at the foul line for the press break...nice...

the other players are trying to find that rhythm with him in the lineup...to me the best lineup is:

Conley PG
Butler SG (but can also handle the rock)
Oden C
Hunter PF
Lewis SF (quick and can shoot)

with Cook and company coming off the bench...but hey what the fuck do i know...(rhetorical don't answer it)

Support from whom?

Seth certainly had the student support because he made it a priority to get them to the games. The really sad thing was when we had our largest student crowds we would just get crushed. Seth also had the support of the Athletic Department, even though he didn't really deserve it toward the end. His contract was extended when it should not have been. He had rubbed many a donor the wrong way by the end of his tenure and he would place blame on many a person other than himself.

Ro comes to a good number of the home games. Solomon Jones (current Atlanta Hawks player) was there today.

What on earth would make you think UF would blow Kansas off the court?!?!? That's just a ridiculous statement.

UF could beat Kansas, yes but I don't think they'll be blowing them away. Kaun of Kansas was "semi-healthy" in one of his first games back against UF, so I guess that balances out a "semi-sick" Brewer......

Let me tell you why....Brewer is our glue that holds the team together. He creates the biggets mismatch on the court at 6'9". He had a 102 fever that day. He had mono. Also, I think UF was a little lax in the beginning. It was a 2 pt OT loss on basically a KU home court(it was all KU fans).

I think next time UF blows them off the court. Period. This team is capable to do that to ANY team in the country.

The Final Four will probaby be a "home court" for Kansas as well............Florida should travel better.
