DVD recorder recommendations

I was looking at some DVD R+ etc.. recorders. mostly I'd use one for backing up archive files and photos to ADVD, not so much for movie duping.
There were three models I spotted that got good reviews that were suprisingly cheap:
LG Electronics GSA-H10L, a sony model Sony DRU-510A, and Lite-On SHM-165H6S.

Why not get a monster USB drive.

I Have a 2 GB one of those ( Actually flash memory), but I need to archive 3 years worth of files on some media that can be easily transported, duplicated, and accessed, and in the future can be saved quarterly in that manner.
I have a 160 GB back up Hard drive, but I'm wiping out all of the old crap on my main drive and want to have a hard copy backup on DVD of that stuff that I can store, in the event of hard drive failure.
Plus, USB can't burn the occasional movie, should I wanna go there. :)

True.
I have an HP, hasn't let me down yet (knock on wood) but I did have ONE that did, but that might be an OS issue and I have several other PC's to put the old one in and check to see if it works.
Have to wait until I get home to tell you the model and such.

I don't think it really matters who you get it from. HP used to have a bad habit of only supporting the +R format, which is stupid. Just make sure it supports all the formats, including DL (Dual Layer). I've purchased Sony, Memorex and a few other brands for work and they've all worked fine.
