Patriots or Colts on Sunday?

I think Belichick & the cast will prove to the world who the class of the AFC truly is, even if they didn't have their best year.

I want them both to lose.
No, check that. I want the blimp to crash into the RCA Dome, taking both teams out in a horrific fireball of death and destruction.

I don't think the Colts will get a better opportunity to get over on Brady and Belichik than this Sunday but I just can't pick Manning in the postseason until he actually wins a big game. Any postseason game is big in context but it's a shot at going to the Super Bowl...these are the games the best of the best get up for and shine when the pressure is on them. Brady may have received a lot of good luck in the past in big games but the bottom line is that he's lost only once in the postseason and is looking to improve to 3-0 over Manning in the playoffs.
Patriots 28, Colts 24

Against my better judgement I am going w/ the Colts. I think the Colts are the better team and they have the advantage of playing at home. I also want to see Manning and Dungy get a ring. A lot of Bucs fan root for the Colts b/c we still wish Dungy was in Tampa.
Colts 20
Pats 17

I have conflicting thoughts... on one hand, you have the Patriots obvious mastery over the Colts in the playoffs. On the other hand, the Colts have beaten the shit out of the Patriots the last two times they played. The last game wasn't as close as the final score indicated. Vinatieri missed a couple of field goals. Should have been 33-20.
Sanders return to the Colts D has bolstered their run defense as of late. Harrison was upgraded to doubtful, but, even if he plays... probably won't help the Patriots too much.
Brady is money in domes. NE actually plays better on turf, so the only home field advantage Indy has will be the crowd noise.
The Colts offense hasn't looked very good the past two weeks. Manning has thrown some key INT that his team has been able to overcome because of the play of their D... oddly enough.
Hmmm....
Everyone locally has been discounting the last two losses to Indy. First one I agree with. Too may guys were hurt for the 40-21 blowout. Didn't really surprise me. The last loss scares me. Manning looked pretty poised facing some serious pressure. Even completed a couple of passes after scrambling out of the pocket. On another play, it appeared like he "Favred" a throw facing a huge blitz. Turns out, he threw it right to where his TE was headed about 3 seconds before he made his break. Scary.
However... I gotta assume Manning will Marty It Up under playoff pressure until he proves otherwise.
My prediction: Patriots win 23-21 on a last second 64 yd FG by Gostkowski after Manning fumbles the snap attempting a kneel down to run out the clock.

I think given how often these teams have hooked up in recent years, many times in the playoffs, there isn't anything left for Belichick to throw at the Colts offense that they haven't already seen. So I discount the Belichick factor heavily. That said, I've still got to have doubts about Peyton stepping up in the clutch until he does it, and there is no doubting that Brady can and will step up. The location factor is big in that all the prior playoff meetings were in Foxboro and this time it's in Indy. Last key factor for me is that if it comes down to a clutch kick it's now Indy who has the guy for that and not NE. So...
Indy- 31
Pats- 27

I don't think there's any way the Pats win this game.

If N.E. gets consistent pressure from the MIDDLE of it's D-line (up in golden boy's grille all day long) they'll be well on their way to winning.
I think there are a lot of 'intangibles' in Indy's favor though, and I believe they'll finally make it to the big dance.
I hope they enjoy the hell out of this win, because a disappointing ass-thumping awaits them in the SB.
Colts -23

If only Dungy still had Alstott in his arsenal, he'd have a sure-thing to go with on 4th and 11...
ALSTOTT UP THE MIDDLE!!!!!!
So while Indy sounds better on paper...Dungy usually competes for the Schottenheimer Trophy in the postseason.

Kind of funny how Dungy and Manning are on the same team when you think Tee Martin took over for Manning at Tennessee and won a national title and Gruden took over for Dungy in Tampa and won the Super Bowl. Could it be possible that the Colts won't win a Super Bowl until they fire Dungy and trade Manning?

Keep Dungy, and trade Manning for Mike Alstott. Then, when it's 4th and 11, 6 points down, no time outs left, Dungy will know exactly what to do...
ALSTOTT UP THE MIDDLE!!!!!!!
To Dungy's credit, at least he's
learned from his mistakes...unlike a certain coach in the lower left corner of the country.

Think of all the cool sound effects Chris Berman could make on
Primetime if Alstott was on the Colts. I am thinking a lot more scoring opportunities. Oh wait... don't.

Th,
The Patriots beat the Chargers and I predicted and still predict that the winner of that matchup will win the SuperBowl!!
Even though the Colts are worthy rivals.... The Patriots will be victorious!!
***
Shoalzie,
I agree with you!
***
Cicero,
Use your better judgment!!
***
Shine,
Never discount the greatest coach in the game!!
***
Mikey,
There are many ways that the Pats win this game.. Check the Post Season histories of both Manning and Brady.
and pay attention to what Dinsdale writes!! He makes sense!!
***
The Colts could win this game. They are at home and do have a good team BUT..
Who would you rather have in a Playoff game?
Brady or Manning?
Bill Belichick or Tony Dungy?
The Colts Defense or the Patriot's Defense?
Addai or Dillon?
Vinatieri or Gostkowski?
The Colts Wide Receivers or the Patriots Wide Recivers?
Terrence Wilkins or Lawrence Maroney?
The Patriots Offensive Line or the Colts Offensive Line?
Home Field Advantage or Visitor?
The Colts History in the playoffs or the Patriots history in the playoffs??
************************************
Each area is not weighted evenly and I would choose 6 for the Pats and 3 for the Colts and 1 tie.
and since Coach, QB and history weigh so much more....
Advantage... PATRIOTS!!
So, who's next??

Law of Averages.
There's just no way Peyton doesn't get over the hump at some point. He's just too good not to. And that "point" is this year, this game.
The Colts will beat NE, and will beat Chicago to win the SB.

What Shine and mgo said. Indy is due. They're playing at home, and they have the more experienced, big-time kicker.

Let me clue you in on something, KC Buffet Line 3.0... I know for a fact that the Patriots are a much different team than they were in week 3 against Denver. Comparing two teams who played against a common opponent...
months ago... and reaching a conclusion based on those results is a flawed analysis. Teams evolve throughout the course of the year. Heck, the Colts have evolved dramatically in the last month alone. They went from a high scoring/can't stop the run for shit team to a can't do shit on offense/85 Bears defense. Late in the season, the Patriots beat Jacksonville who annihilated the Colts. The Patriots annihilated Houston, who beat the Colts. Do you really think those facts have anything to do with this week's game? I don't.
Furthermore, dipshit, this is the playoffs (Cue the Jim MoraTroll). It's like a whole different game. Don't believe me, check Peyton Manning's post-season stats versus his regular-season success. It's different. The intensity, the pressure, the game planning. As a Chefs fans, I'm not sure you'll comprehend that statement, but it's a fact.
One final thing before I punt your bloated carcass from this thead. The Patriot and the Colts actually played each this season, and have a history of playing each every season, and nowhere did Mile Hi T mention that nor what part that might play in the outcome of this game. It was all about what he saw when each team played Denver. That's it.
I actually had to wipe off the stupidity that oozed onto me from you two drooling retards in this thread. That's how fucking stupid the posts were.
Disfuckingmissed.

I do have to go with Indy, but it has nothing to do with the Law of Averages, you dumbfuck. Did you learn that crap logic from Coods?
They're playing at a higher all around level, almost like they saved their best for the playoffs, unlike in previous years when they had used it all up garnering that gaudy (and meaningless) regular season record.
