Questions for Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion:

1. How do you explain the behavior of the apostles .... ? 11 of them died a martyrs' dead on the basis of 2 things: the resurrection of Christ, and their belief in him as the Son of God. They were tortured, flogged, and then suffered death by some of the cruelest methods known.

Peter - crucified
Andrew - crucified
Matthew - sword
John - natural
James, son of Alpheus - crucified
Philip - crucified
Simon - crucified
Thaddeus - killed by arrows
James, brother of Jesus - stoned
Thomas - spear thrust
Bartholemew - crucified
James, son of Zebedee - sword

Through history a lot of people have died for a lie, but they thought it was the truth. If the resurrection did not take place, these men knew it. Therefore these men not only did for a lie, but they KNEW it was a lie. Nobody would do that.

2. In the Big Bang, what exploded .... ? And where did it come from ... ?

3. How did life arise from non-life .... ?

4. When, where, why and how did life learn to reproduce itself .... ?

5. Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, inertia, etc.....) ..... ?

Give a thumper half a chance to thump, and they'll take it. Claiming hightened knowledge, but they lack any humility about it.

Basically, every time a thumper opens their hole, they KTOA.

It would be funny, if it hadn't gotten so old.

The first question deals with what is recorded in the Bible.
Questions 2-5 don't specifically.

If an atheist is so certain there is no God, how does he respond to 2-5 .... ?

Dinsdal, mvscal .... you care to give an answer to those questions ... ?

I'm an atheist-leaning agnostic-btw.

But I answer those questions with the correct answer:

I don't know...and neither do you.

The ONLY correct answer to the questions.

"You can't answer these questions, which proves there's a big man in the sky" is about the most retarded argument I've ever heard-btw.

The fact that there's many different major religions, and many smaller sects within those major religions, tends to indicate that the ideas held by those religions are complete horseshit. If these religions were truly based upon factual events, there would most likely be more consensus and more universal acceptance of their authenticity. But the fact Christians can't even agree amongst themselves how events actually went down, provides some pretty compelling evidence that it's all a bunch of garbled hogwash...common sense dictates this. And if there is a supremem being that created man in his own image, I'm pretty sure that being has a good nose for sniffing out a scam, too. Maybe THAT's the "test" He is Judging us with -- the ability to not be duped by those seeking advancement in society by using His name...ever think of that possibility, thumpers(which makes a fuckload more sense than the drivel you clowns spew)? Because if so...wow, did you people get worked.

But to solve a mathmatic/logic equation with -- "X + Y = I'm right, and you guys are ignorant, where X and Y represent two unknowns"...well, it makes for nice banter on a messageboard, but in real life, it makes you an idiot.

But really -- that lipstick-decorated minivan looks good on you, though.

Oh, if Jeebus rose from the dead...where did he go? Why was it left to his disciples to carry on if The Man himself was still kicking around?
just to be consistant, it said he ascended into heaven. just answering the question, nothing more.

The fact that you can't answer the questions doesn't prove there is a God.

The rational educated individual recognizes that the behavior of the apostles demonstrates that they knew that Jesus was risen, and that he was indeed, the promised Christ.

The rational educated individual also accepts that having no answer to questions 2-5 is an indication that at the very least, the possibility of a creator exists.

To dismiss the possibility of a creator out of hand makes one extremely unwise.

The ONLY reason anybody adheres to ANY religion is because somebody told them to.

Period. End of story, not up for negotiation.

And when people are told what to believe, the "message" they're given is invariably presented as a threat.

The Quran gives a much more recent account of how the divine powers went about their business, and the "interperetations" have gone through but a tiny fraction of the changes the Bible has, and has a much larger pack of groupies. The "eyewitness" accounts given in the Quran are hundreds of years newer, and from a logical standpoint, would be much more reliable.

And I ain't buying those threats, either.

Matter of fact, I think every zealot on the planet needs to shut their fucking hole and stop threatening me, before I start getting testy.

Here's a wonderful freaking rule of thumb for everyone, everywhere to follow -- if you need to threaten people to get them to fall in line with your ideology...your ideology sucks.

"Give me 10% of your money, or we'll put a match to you for thousands of years"...gee, that doesn't smell like a scam or anything...

Interesting rant, Dinsdale.
Not that it speaks to questions 1-5, but yes, interesting.

There is not an absence of evidence for God, mvscal.
You are confusing 'proof' and evidence.

Instead of flailing around, just admit that you have no answers to give to the questions ..... or remain silent.

The only one you even attempted to give an answer to was #1.
You say there are 'plenty' of other reasons the apostles would subject themselves to horrendous torture and death.
Let's here 'em.

And btw, #3 and #4 are NOT the same question.
A living thing REproducing is not the same thing as a living thing magically arising from non-life.
