S 01 GEORGIA TECH W. No Calvin Johnson, no win. But they don't have Reggie Ball, either, so it may be close.
S 08 @ Penn State L. First time starter on the road in a very hostile stadium. Revenge from last year.
S 15 @ Michigan L. Much closer than people will expect. ND does this to UofM when they aren't supposed to be worth a shit.
S 22 MICHIGAN ST. W. No Stanton, but then again, that means no boneheaded plays.
S 29 @ Purdue W. Charlie will never lose to Tiller.
O 06 @ UCLA W. I would have said a loss, but Dorrell is still the coach and may be calling the plays. Walker is a stud DC.
O 13 BOSTON COLLEGE W. Charlie knows he can't lose to Fredo. This needs to end.
O 20 SOUTHERN CAL L. One-two recruiting classes away.
N 03 NAVY W. Thanks.
N 10 AIR FORCE W. Thanks again.
N 17 DUKE W. Way to send the 7 seniors left (16 if you count 5th years) with a win. Thanks.
N 24 @ Stanford W. ND should be clicking by this point.
9-3 best case senario. Scratch that. 10-2 if Corwin Brown really turns the defense around and they steal one of the PSU or UofM games. Worst case, I can see losing to UCLA and Boston College. 7-5 but a team that is playing well near the end of the season. Decent bowl game so they can hopefully end their streak.

Wisconsin Fucking Badgers.
Sept. 1 Washington State W, over [redundant]mediocre PAC 10[/redundant] team
Sept. 8 at UNLV W, shitty Mountain West team
Sept. 15 The Citadel W, over a very underrated program
Sept. 22 Iowa W, by a large margin
Sept. 29 Michigan State W, suck it, Sparty
Oct. 6 at Illinois W, it’s Ron Zook for goodness sake
Oct. 13 at Penn State W, close game and we break Joe’s other leg
Oct. 27 Indiana W, yawn
Nov. 3 at Ohio State W, Badgers have had some success recently in Columbus
Nov. 10 Michigan W, payback in a close game
Nov. 17 at Minnesota W, in a game that winds up being closer than it should be
One more game to be added on Oct 20. Based on the schedule so far, the opponent should be Temple, unless Buffalo is available. Again. Either way, it’s another hard fought W, to finish 12-0.

Sept. 29 Alabama (Jacksonville) WIN, Close but we have more athletes
Oct. 6 NC State WIN, big win
Oct. 11 at Wake Forest WIN, Revenge game

Oct. 27 Duke WIN, Blowout
Nov. 3 at Boston College WIN, Offense should be clicking

I know ND has already been done, but my take . . .
S 01 GEORGIA TECH W. Like Killian said, we don't lose this with Johnson gone.
S 08 @ Penn State L. Holy role reversal, Batman. This time, it's ND with the first-year starting QB and playing on the road.
S 15 @ Michigan L. I think Michigan has a shot at contending for the national championship next season.
S 22 MICHIGAN ST. W. No John LLLLLL = addition by subtraction, but ND needs this one too badly to lose.
S 29 @ Purdue W. Again, we need this one too badly to lose.
O 06 @ UCLA L. This is the one where I disagree with Killian's assessment. Somewhere along the line, we lose a tossup game next season. Imho, this is it.
O 13 BOSTON COLLEGE W. I'm told that this game doesn't get nearly the visibility on campus that it does among ND fans who have to put up with Fredo. But Weis should be familiar with their hard-on for ND, coming from the Pats.
O 20 SOUTHERN CAL L. We just don't have the horses to compete next year. Maybe -- hopefully -- '08 will be different.
N 03 NAVY W. 44 in a row.
N 10 AIR FORCE W. ND doesn't lose to Air Force unless their coach is named Gerry Faust.
N 17 DUKE W. This is football, not basketball.
N 24 @ Stanford W. We get the easiest part of our schedule at the end, and we won't let up here.
I see it as 8-4, with 10-2 as a best-case scenario (we steal one, most likely at Penn State if it happens), or 7-5 as a worst-case scenario (loss to Fredo as well). Most likely we wind up in either the Gator or the Cotton Bowl, either of which would look to be a quite winnable game.

Couldn't tell you the dates or order, so I'll just list the games.
Non-conference
at Northern Illinois (soldier field)........probable win
at Iowa State..............probable win
vs syracuse...............probable win
vs jerkmeoff state (I cannot remember the 4th crappy non-conference game)...........probable win
vs indiana...........probable win
at Wisconsin........toss-up game
vs penn st..........toss-up game
at northwestern.........probable win
at michigan st.........probable win
vs minnesota........probable win
vs illinois............probable win
We have our worst home schedule ever. Not 1 good home game. Only decent 1 is Penn St. Probably should be a 10-2 or 11-1 team after looking at that cupcake schedule. Not gonna be too exciting of a season.

Probably because those October dates are games that are being added at the last minute, and Notre Dame’s schedule just isn’t in any way going to fit. That, and the fact that you’d never agree to always play the game in Madison.

Navy is the only service academy that's still an annual game. Read up on the relationship between ND and Navy, then get back to me.

A one-shot deal. And everyone has cupcakes on their schedule. At least ND doesn't venture into 1-AA land. Most of the programs that have a fanbase on this board can't say the same.

2007 Schedule
Sept. 1 vs. Illinois W close game, always is, MU offense the key to win
Sept. 8 at Ole Miss W ole miss still rebuilding should be close
Sept. 15 Western Michigan W high scoring game, but a W
Sept. 22 Illinois State W div1aa cream puffer, yippeeeee
Oct. 6 Nebraska W at home, and mu offense still intact
Oct. 13 at Oklahoma L close to half, OU grinds out a 13 pt victory
Oct. 20 Texas Tech W Tech still cant stop anyone, MU wins by 10
Oct. 27 Iowa State W bad ISU team, no choking like in ames
Nov. 3 at Colorado W i'm wavering on this pick, MU should win, but GP is in control
Nov. 10 Texas A&M W Pissed away a chance to win away, handles buisness
Nov. 17 at Kansas State L They have to prove they can win in manhatten
Nov. 24 vs. Kansas W Game in KC, if it was in lawrence i would pick gayhawks.
10-2/9-3
there is no reason with the talent on offense and the aggresive defense mu has, that they can't win 9 games. If they flop to 8 wins or less, GP needs to be castrated, schedule suits up for a big season(record wise)
whole offense is back, defense found the fatties to stick in the middle, linebacker play will make or break the team defensively. always aggresive and gets to qb, problem was, they couldnt stop the run.

I think they handle Zona in LA, the Trojans havent lost a home game since St. Johns ashes were (allegedley) spread all over the field by JK McKay and Pat Haden. I can see thinking ahead of Zona for the Irish but this team saw what happens when you look ahead this year in the UCLA game

Youngstown State (9/1) ---W
Akron (9/8) ---W
at Washington (9/15) ---W <-this game scares me of all the early games because of a young QB starting on the left coast
Northwestern (9/22) ---W
at Minnesota (9/29) ---W
at Purdue (10/6) ---W
Kent State (10/13) ---W
Michigan State (10/20) ---W
This is where the schedule begins....
All this depends on whether the new QB can step it up and take command. Ill give Penn St is the most probable loss and then Wisconsin a Win but these games could go either way. The Michigan game will be a Win cause LLLLLoyd is Tressel's bitch. but this is the one year that Carr could finally get a win LOL
at Penn State (10/27) ---L
Wisconsin (11/3) ---W
Illinois (11/10) ---W
at Michigan (11/17) ---W

10/13 Indiana W
10/20 @ Ohio St L
10/27 @ Iowa W
11/3 Michigan L
11/10 @ Purdue L

88 I agree but think tOSU goes with 2 losses probably to PSU and Sconsin back to back...defense will be tough but the O will struggle early...

Texas 2007
09/01 ARKANSAS STATE - W fodder
09/08 TCU - W This is a tough game but no way they come into Austin and win, their strength plays right into the Horns strength
09/15 at Central Florida - Nice roadie to Florida and another gimmie win.
09/22 RICE - W Traditional game and another gimmie for Texas
09/29 KANSAS STATE - W Revenge game for the Horns becomes a slug fest with Texas struggling to win.
10/06 vs. Oklahoma (Dallas) - As usual this is the defining game for both programs, I don't know at this point who will win, but I like the Horns chances.
10/13 at Iowa State - W trap game, coming off an emotional Oklahoma game I could see this going either way, with Chizik at the helm.
10/20 at Baylor - W One yearI won't be able to take Baylor for granted, but it is not this year.
10/27 NEBRASKA - W Big game that Texas will be prepared for.
11/03 at Oklahoma State - L this is the game that Texas will slip up in, coming off a big Nebraska game I see this as the one they drop.
11/10 TEXAS TECH - W A lot depends on the DB development over the course of the year, but it is in Austin and I can't remember when they last won in DKR
11/23 at Texas A&M - W All I can say is revenge for the hit on Colt, it doesn't matter if this game was played in Austin, College station, or a parking lot. The cheap shot on Colt will not be forgotten.

OU 2007
Sat, Sep 01 -- North Texas, W, asskicking, with myopians disappointed that OU didn't win by 70 instead of 50.
Sat, Sep 08 -- Miami, Intriguing game, to say the least. Miami has the athletes to stay with OU, but way too many questions on offense for them. Questions for OU's offense as well, but in Norman, I'll say W, barring a bizarre call, freak play or key injury.
Sat, Sep 15 -- Utah State, W, asskicking
Sat, Sep 22 -- @ Tulsa, W, especially with Kragthorpe gone. With him, it would have been a tossup.
Sat, Sep 29 -- @ Colorado, W, but closer than expected.
Sat, Oct 06 -- Texas at Dallas, toss-up, but OU is due, W
Sat, Oct 13 -- Missouri, W
Sat, Oct 20 -- @ Iowa State, W
Sat, Oct 27 -- Oklahoma State, L, especially if OU is undeafeated up to this point.
Sat, Nov 03 -- Texas A&M, W, asskicking
Sat, Nov 10 -- Baylor, W
Sat, Nov 17 -- @ Texas Tech, L, in a close game, fucking up OU's BCS chances
11-1 ~ 9-3 ... 10-2 seems likely, especially with a W against either/or OSU or Tech and a L against either/or Texas or Miami in my scenario.

Yes...I am calling it because I have to. 12-0 and a national title bid.
I don't think it's unreasonable to believe they will be 11-0 going into the Ohio State game. The road games against Michigan State and Wisconsin the two weeks prior will be tough tests and should have them battle-ready for the Buckeyes when they come to town.
If that Oregon game was at Autzen Stadium, I'd be a little more worried about it. The Big House has never been a lead pipe lock as a home field advantage but given this team's struggles in the past on the West coast...they should be able to get the best of Dixon and company. That three pack of games with Oregon, Notre Dame and Penn State will be their most important stretch in the first half of the season with the next 5 being games they shouldn't have too much trouble with. I think Illinois could be tricky with Juice Williams having a year under his belt.
If they do start 4-0...I can very easily see them getting to 9-0 going into the State game. Those final three games will obviously determine the Big Ten title and potential and berth in the Shamorama Bowl, wherever that game will be played this next season.

Why should the Big Ten care about Notre Dame during the regular season?
I wish that all the Big Ten teams would stop scheduling Notre Dame all-together. ND is playing half a Big Ten Schedule, receiving Big East bowl bids, participating in the Commander-in-Chief Trophy and paying no one back in return.

That won't happen.
Michigan State probably never would have gotten into the Big Ten in the first place but for their series with ND, which was the impetus for remodeling Spartan Stadium to meet Big Ten standards. Purdue won't drop ND because ND is Purdue's biggest rival, at least as far as things currently stand.
Michigan is the only Big Ten team that would even consider dropping ND. But having ND on the schedule allows Michigan a lot of leeway otherwise as far as their OOC schedule goes. So that's probably not going to happen either.

The Commander-in-Chief Trophy joke is played out. ND had to add a 12th game, just as everyone else, and they took a team that was a traditional rival in Army.

True, and it's especially lame when you consider the number of schools who added a 1-AA school for that 12th game.

We bring back 18 starters, so the expectation level is going to be high. We get both WVU and Louisville at home, so that is to our advantage.
I see us in the 9-3 or 10-2 range this season. The key game in my mind is at Rutgers. They have to replace a good portion of their team, especially their OL and TE, so it might take Ray Rice a while to get used to that. If the game were earlier than 10/18, then I would say it would be a win for us.
