After a somewhat slow start, the Cardinal (5-3, 13-5) (I hate that name) is starting to show some strength in the conference. They've won five of their last six games, including victories over top 25 teams Washington State and USC. The 65-50 win over SC on Thursday was one of complete domination. The Cardinal blocked a total of 19 shots, including 12 by Brook Lopez.
The new 7 foot twin towers, Brook and Robin Lopez, are really starting to find their games. Especially Brook, who missed the first five games recovering from back surgery. He notched Stanford's first triple double since ate least 1985 the hard way with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 12 blocks.
The game this evening against UCLA is big for them. While I don't expect Stanford to win, it's being played in Maples Pavillion and stranger things have been known to happen. If they do win, I would expect to see them break the top 25 next week. And next up is on OOC game against Gonzaga.

Furd looks good. I saw the game with SC the other day on FSN Bay Area up here. I expect Furd to beat UCLA tonight.
Those twins from Fresno are absolutely amazing.
I'm looking forward to LSJU taking it to UCLA tonight. Should be a good one.

I think it's nationwide on FSN tonight. At least it's on down here too. This is turing out to be a damn competetive conference.

Nice fucking comeback.
Down by 17 in the first half, and win by 7.

I had a feeling... the way Furd has played the last 6 games.
Nice win.

What did Furd do against Oregon, anyway?
Oh, that's right...same thing UCLA did...came up short.

Oregon hasn't been to Maples or Pauley yet, either.
When they win both of those, then you can crow...errr...quack. Until then STFU.

Oregon...who last I checked was tied for the PAC10 lead, and has a better overall record than anyone in the CoC, can do no worse than split the regular season with Furd(a conference also-ran) and UCLA.
I'll talk all the shit I like, thank you very much, since that pesky SCOREBOARD tends to back up my statements.
Stanford fan has this strange sense of entitlement, since they've won the same number of Championships that Oregon has...same number as Cal has.

The Furds are getting outplayed by the Zags... on the farm, with about 12 minutes to go.
47-42.
If they don't step it up, they're top 25 will be short lived.

They're up by a point now.
If they can pull this one out it will be their third quality OOC win this season. UVA and Texas Tech being the others. None of them top 25 at this point but all solid teams.

B Lopez is fuckin' smooth. By next season he'll be one of the top centers in the country.

Isn't his brother the one that got the triple double the other day(1st one in Furd history)?

No Brook is the one.
These guys need some FT practice. 243rd in D1? That's fucking embarassing.
They would have won this game if they could have made a few from the line.

Guess who's #1 in the country....
You'll be playing them on Saturday.
Wish we didn't have out top 3 players out for the year. We might get Hardin back for the Pac 10 tourney.
Damn, nice 3 by the furd.

They were never that bad under Mongomery.
Johnson's excuse:
Free throws aren't my responsibility.

The Zags finally figured it out... by playing "Hack a Furd" and make them try to win on the line.
This ones over.
See ya on Saturday.
