Which Bear or Colt Does Something Stupid This Week In Miami?

You know it happens every year. Eugene Robinson and the whore. Barrett Robbins and his trip to Tijuana. Stanley Wilson's COKE binge. And so on and so on.

So, who will it be this year?

I'm betting on Colts punter Hunter Smith being involved in an altercation in a bar.

It will be a Bear. Count on it. One thing about Dungy is he doesn't put up with the shit other coaches do.

I heard a story where Reggie Wayne was getting his head pounded in a fight and started to make a fist to retaliate but decided not to because he was afraid of Dungy's reaction and was scared he would be suspended. This coming from a guy who played for The U. Dungy may be the race card player, but he sure has the respect of his players which is refreshing.

Since Tank Williams is under house-arrest, I think it'll be a pretty boring week.

question- if a Colt or Bears player does go off and do something stupid to the point of illegal, can we blame it on the black coach?

Reggie Wayne was getting hit over the head in a downtown Indianapolis club, and the Colts' Pro Bowl receiver did what naturally: He pulled back his arm, balled his hand into a fist and prepared to fight back.

Then an image flashed inside Wayne's head and stopped him cold. And for that, he says, the woman who whacked Wayne and got away unscathed can thank Tony Dungy.

"A couple of weeks ago, on the Saturday night of the Kansas City [playoff] game, I was standing over by the bar at Club Ice when a girl took the St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap right off my head and hit me in the head with it, three times," Wayne explained last Thursday night as we dined (along with 10 Colts defenders) at Fleming's Steakhouse, across from Indy's Keystone Crossing shopping area. "I had no idea what was happening -- she was probably drunk, and maybe she thought I was somebody else.

"She didn't say a thing; she just grabbed my hat and started hitting me. And she damn near got it ... an ass-whupping."

That she didn't, Wayne said, is a testament to his respect for Dungy, the soft-spoken, clean-living coach whom many of his players regard as a de facto father. Instead, Wayne stayed calm as one of the other patrons retrieved his cap and employees prepared to escort the woman out of the club -- before the relieved receiver talked them into letting her stick around and went back to celebrating the victory over the Chiefs.

"There've been times like that when I get into it with somebody downtown, someone who'll come at me the wrong way, and the first thing I think of is Coach Dungy," Wayne said. "It's not, 'I'll get in trouble.' I see his face in my head, and I think, I don't want to disappoint him. And you have to be smart, because who knows? If I retaliated when that girl hit me, I might not be playing in the playoffs right now."

Don't be absurd. Simply blame it on the white man for 400 years of slavery and oppression.
Oh, what a giveaway! Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about! Did you see him repressin' me? You saw it, didn't you?

That's all you got from that story?

Reggie wants us to respect Dungy because he didn't turn around and punch some women in the face who was hitting him with a hat??

Uh, ok Reggie. Does coach Dungy tell you how to cut your steak and make you wear a bib too?

Hey, no one is a bigger Dungy fan on the board than me. I have been saying for a long time that I wish he was still w/ the Bucs. He is a good man and always field a competitive team. All I'm saying is that you don't wear a hat to a nice restaurant.

Is that why you roll with the visor?

And if you do, and some woman hits you with it, you'd better hope you have someone like coach Dungy in your life that you can mentally call upon and remember you might not get playing time if you smack this bitch up.

Reggie Wayne's father should blow his fucking brains out for fathering job he did.

Sure you can rack Dungy for being a good man, but that doesn't erase the fact that Reggie's daddy should do some cobain style redecorating of what must be a lovely hovel.

What are the chances of one of them getting shot partying with his homies outside a nightclub in South Beach?

No Mikey, the Pacers are the ones who would fit into that scenario.

So if he played for Bill Parcells he would have beaten her into bloody pulp?
Yeah, I had only heard part of the story before I actually found the article. I had heard he was getting beat over the head and restrained himself. The story I had heard no baseball cap or woman was mentioned.

So, yeah, it lost a lot of lustre once I read the whole thing. I just didn't comment further on it. A good example for getting allt he facts straight before you form an opinion on something.

I was thinking the same thing. If I were him, I would have just attributed not seeking retribution against a woman who dissed me to common sense. How much can being hit with a cap hurt??? Either the dude is a total fucking idiot... or he's lying.

Lord knows... most people would have capped her ass. Thank God for Dungy. Tony might not have played him the next game had Wayne killed her. Or worse... he may have made him run extra laps or some shit. :meds:

It's a matter of respec, man. A woman beats you with a baseball cap in public your cred goes straight to hell. Only way to get it back is to at least draw some blood.
