Bears or Colts?

Post by kcdave »

Q, its just your imagination. Nothing here to see.

Why the hell has this thread not been posted already. Late Tuesday night, and Im having to post a pick the winner thread? Damn ...... money says there will be a thread on this board going to crap soon.

Anywho ......... I really, really, REALLY, want to pick the Colts. They have the better QB hands down. Based upon history, they have the better coach. Rb's are a wash. Defense ..... well ........ frankily the Bears are better. With that, Im FORCED to pick the Bears.

If the Bears do win, fine. They win, I win, and I continue to look just a little smarter than the many times that I look like a dumbass for picking the wrong team.

If the Bears lose ........ thats still a marginal win for me. How, you say? Simple you fools. I will never, ever, EVER, accept the old bullshit about defense winning championships.

Keep in mind, I am an AFC guy and well,......I HATE Eli's brother. But I think that Rex is going to lose the game.

Colts 23
Bears 15

But who really cares as long as the colts win by 7.

Then if history means anything, Colts will win.

One thing about the Colts, this is not the same "chuck it down the field" offense as you've seen in the past. Peyton isn't making NEAR as many long throws as he used to. He's more into the 5-10 yard passing game now. He picks teams apart. He doesn't like to get hit so they run a lot of 3 and 5 step drop and throw before the defense can even penetrate the line.

So, the Bears won't be able to have effective blitz schemes. If the Bears defense is going to make an impact, it will be due to LBs dropping into the 5-10 yard zone and making plays on the TE and slot receiver.

Colts defense, for some reason, has been inspired all of a sudden. With Sanders back in the playoffs, they have been good, almost great. That's all this defense needs to do is be good against the Bears. Stack 9 in the box unless it is an obvious passing down and they should hold the Bears enough times for the Colts to win.

My prediction:

Colts - 31
Bears - 17

Peyton is going to Disneyland and will be the MVP.

Turnovers will be the key and I think the Bears win that, +2. A small thing that could be major, the Colts kick/punt coverage looked absolutely awful against the Pats and I think the Bears get huge chunks off of them. As a Packer fan I hate picking the Bears, but my gut is telling me it will be...

Bears 27
Colts 21

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Aints have an even more potent offense than Indy?

And how did they do against the Urlachers?

The Bears offense blows goats, to be sure, but they also have excellent special teams, and often times through the course of 4 quarters, that field position battle eventually decides the outcome.

I think the big playmakers on the Bears D will overcome the playmakers on the Colts' O, and the Legend of Peyton Also-Ranning continues.

Excellent point. But remember, they let Tank Johnson out, and he'll cover for them.

Sorry...lame pun.

One thing different about the Colts this year is their ability to win ugly when things don't go all their way.

Other side of the coin...which Bears' victory wasn't "ugly"? Every time this team takes the field, there's 3 certainties...death, taxes, and ugliness. Their field is ugly, their stadium is ugly, their QB is ugly, and their style of play is ugly. It just don't get any uglier than DaBears.

Colts have a better QB, OLine and WR's than the Saints. Plus the game is in a nuetral site. If Indy limits itself to only one turnover, they will win this game.

I suppose if Manning & Co had lit up the Ravens for more than zero fucking touchdowns, you might have a semblance of a point.

:meds:

Where the fuck are you going with this? The Ravens held the Colts to 15 points... so the Bears, with their vastly inferior defense will 'only' hold them to 17 pts?

Rag on the Bears inept QB all you want, their team can score. In bunches. They'll put up 24+ points against the Colts, whether it's on O, D, or ST they will score. If the Colts score zero TD this week, they lose. That's the point.

How is it your account is so much different from that of the police report?

How does wounds to the leg, arm, and chest translate into "in the back"?

Oh, wait...I forgot I was dealing with Chargertard.

You DO realize the guy already had pending charges for resisting and assualting officers while drunk, right?

The Bears win this one easy... not even close.

The Colts will live in "NFL" eternal hell for the bitch move made by the owner... sneaking out of Baltimore in the middle of the night with moving trucks.

Any owner that moves an NFL team to Indiana gets what they deserve.

I agree...that rich history of NFL football in the great state of Indiana has me reminiscing to ghosts of the past.

Fuck, who am I kidding... the only great thing about Indiana is that it's narrow, and you can get through it quickly when you're driving across country.

That and Evansville being the long time headquarters of the KKK.

Indiana is full of rich history.

Manning has been playing inconsistently in the post season and it is about to catch up with him. Grossman has had an up and down season but he will have a big game as the Bears roll:

Chicago - 34

Indianapolis - 16

It appears that he was shot while his back was facing the officer. In the leg. Regardless, the hole incident reeks of Nogs being Nogs. Who knows wtf happened. This much I do know... Foley is a motherfucking criminal who's been arrested 5 times since 1999. I stand by my Foley comparison to mvscal. Both are complete fucking idiots.

While I may be a "stupid fuck" in your eyes, I'm not such a "stupid fuck" that I don't know the difference between a noun and an adjective.

See, you educationally-challenged stupid fuck, the "back," in the context you used it, is a "noun," being that it is part of the human anatomy...in more simple terms, think of it as the part of your body where your boyfriend usually deposits his semen.

A "knee" is also an anatomical part. It has different parts to it, and the part that faces your boyfriend when you commit those crimes against nature would be referred to as the "back." Now, in this instance, "back" describes a noun, making it an "adjective."

Glad I could help...stupid fuck. You're backpedalling like a Charger in a courtroom.

Damn, Dins, you should have stopped at just picking the Bears instead of spending half of a freaking thread playing pin the semantic tail on a P-Town methfreak. And mvscal didn't even bring up the 5 or 20 other problems with that whole Foley deal.

Anyhoo...

Better Defense--Bears
Better Special Teams--Bears
Better Running Game--Bears
Best Tin-Man Impersonation--Manning (He did everything he could to choke away the AFC champ game...hell, the biggest play of the game for them on offense had to be spoonfed to No-Heart by his 5th string Tight End.)

This will be Bucs-Raiders Part Deaux.

Bears......big

I let this one slide since... well, you went to a school that gives out degree's in the tractor pull, and how to kill as many students as possible at a bonfire, while stating that engineering students at said "University" were responsible for putting together the Lincoln logs that killed the "students". You now understand why I let the first comment slide.

Now we'll look at the Aggies second response...

I tend not to engage in academic smack with m2ool when he plays the Kal card. I graduated from college. He pretends he went for a semester. It's not even a worthy opponent.

It's just humorous.

He continuously calls people out on academic smack all the while fucking up his grammar, punctuation and spelling.

He calls out people for their sports knowledge while never providing anything more than a "so-and-so wins" and "here's a picture of a bridge to show my BODE".

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

Dude, that explaination on Snopes makes it even fucking funnier. An Aggie "engineer" decided that the masonry couldn't support a piece of plywood?

Shit, I would have come down there and showed them how to do it, for a nominal fee. I've boarded up windows on masonry building quite similar to that, although not for the purpose of hurricane preparation.

But that's one of the stuidest excuses for being dumb I've ever heard. "The load-bearing wall with huge window openings holds up a multiple-story building just fine, but it's not strong enough to hold a 5 pound piece of plywood."

Sell that one to someone, Aggies.

Freaking TEARS.

PSSST! I'll let Aggiegineer in on a little secret...there's no law that says you can't drill small pilot holes into the 1.5" aluminum frame around the window. I'm sure some Aggie "engineering student/bonfire builder" could figure out how many screws it would take to support a piece of plywood subjected to a 100MPH wind....wait...maybe not.

Can't. Stop. Laughing.

"Uhm....the building wasn't strong enough to support a few pieces of plywood...yeah, that's the ticket!" Sin, Jon Lovitz, A&M Engineering Professor
