Might I remind you of what we had to endure in 1988, the best Super Bowl of all time.

Elvis Presto in 3D

Yes, Elvis Presto. Yes, that's Bob Costas in those glasses.

Wasn't that the Super Bowl where some Bengal player broke his leg ? Not quite of Theisman magnitude but I remember some Bengal running, then falling, then seeing his ankle flop around like a sock dangling from a foot.

Super Bowl XXIII will always have a special place in my heart. It was the excuse for the single best Super Bowl party I have ever been associated with. The player who broke his leg was Tim Krumrie and it happened on the very first series of the game. The rest of the broadcast featured the clip of his leg shattering during every other replay. Of course being college students, we had turned the Super Bowl into one giant drinking game wherein (amongst other things) you had to drink every time a player you picked before the game was mentioned in the broadcast. The girl who picked Krumrie never had a chance.

Yes, he broke his leg, and without being hit. He just planted one foot, picked up the other, and it started flopping around like (as was previously mentioned) a sock. Wasn't so bad until they started showing constant slow motion instant replays. Eek. Very gross. From what I understand, that was the play that drove Niner tight end John Frank from football and into med school. Harris Barton was watching the replay and made a few comments and Frank was instantly sickened. Very graphic scene.
