Seriously... Favre is embarrassing himself. The Niners let Montana and Rice go, and the Packers have to do the same with Fav-ruh.

My deluded Packer friends swear that Favre has a lifetime ticket, and no matter how bad he may be now, his three MVP's will guarantee rabid nutjob support from the cheeseheads well into his 40's. They, of course also contend that he is a top three alltime quarterback, the last six years notwithstanding. These are normally rational, intelligent people, but when it comes to that hillbilly, all logic gets thrown out the window.

I'm not sure how long his contract is for. However, he needs to get out of that place ASAP. Favre is NOT mentoring him and has publically stated his refusal to do so. The fans aren't high on him and apparently the coaches aren't either. Otherwise they would have yanked Favre long ago. Aaron is learning bad habits from Favre who has the worst mechanics of any NFL QB. He throws off his back foot, sidearms the throws, doesn't look away the safeties, etc.

He's also likely to pass Marino to become the NFL's all-time TD leader.

Favre isnt what he used to be, but w/ a good defense and an o-line, he is still capable of getting a team into the 1st Round of the playoffs. Especially in the mediocre NFC.

Yes, he won five in seven years. Montana won four in nine.

Favre threw for almost 4,000 yds (18 td's - 18 int's) on a team with the league's 23 ranked running game.

His leadership helped a young team win it's last 4 games to finish at .500.

I don't see where you're coming from in calling him selfish to want to play next yr, 2ool.

Sure, all rational folks will acknowledge that he's not that same QB he was a decade ago, but he's still doing a reasonably good yob, and you really can't measure the intangibles he brings to the table.

I DO think records are on his mind, but, and call me naive, I also think he's legitimately hopeful that this team can be good enough next yr for him to get one last moment in the playoff sun.


Your argument would have more legs if he truly stunk it up last yr, but he didn't.
