LOL.. yea, he just Misspoke at the press conference.

I'm sorry, but how so? Yeah, I had a conference call with coach and Reggie Bush about blah blah blah. Oops, I mean...uhh...just jokes...I misspoke. Uhh...what was the question again. Bullshit he misspoke. Either he imagined a conversation with Reggie Bush and chose to share with us his rather vivid imagination or USC got some 'splainin to do.

"Southern California" is conducting the investigation. Hmmmm.

Image

Reminds me a tad of Watergate or Iraq as more and more slowly leaks out about illegalities. Sooner or later even synchophants like the Pac-10 and the NCAA will have to do something, and then it will all fall down...and just before it does or right after, Pete will take a NFL job. Mark my words here.

If McKnight placed the call, it's a non-issue. Had Poodle been smart, he would have said that McKnight called Bush after he (Poodle) gave him the number, and they confrenced Poodle in.

I read that article last night. And I laughed.

It might not look so fishy if the three main parties involved could actually agree on which lie to tell. Or at least they could stick with the same lie they originally told.

Petey with the "never happened." "OK, it did happen, but not like we said earlier."

The hilarious level of disagreement and story-changing is not making a convincing argument for USC's innocence. While I'm sure the last thing the NCAA wants is USC in hot water, SC is making it awfully tough for everyone to keep sweeping their dirt under the rug.

True, but thats not what happened...

During the Wednesday news conference, McKnight said Carroll set up a conference call so he and Curtis could talk to Bush and ease concerns USC might face sanctions.

One thing I've learned about bitching about stuff like this is their is no point to the bitching. Just give it up. Nothing is going to happen to USC........ever. The NCAA will pretend to investigate everything and then come back and say they found nothing. I know you hate SC, with good reason, but constantly bringing up accusations about a program like USC is absolutely pointless. Let it go!

I'm gonna let you in on a secret........

This is big-time college athletics. Programs like USC, Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida State, and Miami do NOT have rules. They can do what they want. They can hand out cars, cash, gifts, houses, etc... doesn't matter. Like John L Smith recently said, "where there's smoke, there's probably fire." And that is true in most cases. Those programs have had countless allegations against them and nothing happened. Why? 2 reasons......The NCAA doesn't care what they do is one of the reasons and the other is because they're very good at covering things up. Well, Pete Carrol is pretty bad at covering up, but still it's USC so he doesn't really have to.

Okay, let me remove my more invective words, and then you can respond again.

McKnight said it happened.
News stories about the alleged conference call surface.
Pete Carroll said it didn't happen.
McKnight said it didn't happen.
J.T. Curtis said it didn't happen.

There you are. LA Times, ESPN, feel free to PM me.

P.S. OJ said it didn't happen.

Nothing's happening. M2 I can understand why you would want something to be done. W/ USC out of the picture, Cal would get to go to a Major Bowl almost every year.

This story has nothing to do with Cal.

No, it has to do about your constant obsession with everything USC and the fact you would rather see them fail than see Cal succeed.

It's also comical that you continue to try to "smack" a poster that continually contributes more than you do to this board on a daily basis.

Where have I said I want SC to fail... ever???

I'd fine no joy what so ever in beating an SC team on a downward slide. I want to play and beat an SC team when they're on top! What fun is it when you beat an SC team that starts to lose to teams such as Oregon State, UCLA, ahhhh, oppps. Anyways, I'm just looking for an even playing field... much as any team in a conference would like... oppps, I went and did it again.

Example: Lets take the SEC... If LSU or any other SEC team found out that players on Florida were taking money, gifts, given free housing in luxury apts. that cost around $2,500 a month, and cheating (breaking the rules) when recuiting... do you think it would lay the fondations for an even playing field? This doesn't just affect the Pac 10, it effects any and every team that plays SC... are starting to see the picture, Mr. non-conference guy???

Three posts about one team, all of them negative, and two different reasons as to why USC may not reach their recent levels of success. Tell me how this isn't pointing out their shortcomings, which in turn shows how they could possibly fail? You wrote all three posts, so it can easily be interpreted that you want them to fail.

I may not be too bright, but I continue to run laps around you.

Smart strategy. It's always best to retreat and lick your wounds when you know you are beaten. Especially if they are self inflicted.

Are you looking in the mirror, when you post?

This is gettin' wierd.

Hopefully, we can get back to the topic of "Cheat On"!

"Fight on" is no longer appropriate.

Pete Carroll = Rick Neuheisel

They are both great guys who are loved by their players and fans. They are energetic, charming, down to earth coaches, who know how to win and have fun at the same time.

Problem is neither one gives a rats ass about the NCAA rule book and both give a new definition to the term "grey area".

Spin from SC haters, Yahoo, LSwhoo and Mwho

Heres the video of the interview with McKnight
http://www.wwltv.com/sharedcontent/Vide ... 3&catId=53
nowhere does he say he spoke with Reggie Bush, he does say he spoke with Pete Carroll and that "we talked about how they would use me and what was going on with Reggie"

And heres a little more of something interesting about the recruitment of another of USC's Runningbacks
"Penn State already has a pretty good recruiting class, but there are still a few scholarships available and the Nittany Lions have a few high profile targets still on their radar screen.

At the top of the list is Broderick Green from Little Rock, Arkansas. He's a great all around running back that has shown some major explosiveness on video. Although he has committed to USC, he took an official visit to Penn State this past weekend and plans to take a visit to Ohio State this coming weekend. His parents did not accompany him on his trip to Penn State, but they plan to make a trip to meet Paterno before signing day.

By all accounts, the coaches put on the full court press on this kid including having his favorite NFL running back, Larry Johnson Jr., fly in to greet him. It would make great sense for Green to come to Penn State. The backfield at USC is overloaded with four star running backs so he will have to be exceptional to crack the depth chart".

Wilma Murdock wanted to check out the place for herself. Broderick Green took an official visit to Penn State two weeks ago and came back very excited about his time in Happy Valley. He got to speak with Larry Johnson Jr. and Tamba Hali as the two were in town for the weekend. Find out if Mrs. Murdock experienced the same feelings about PSU as her son did.

Bottom line.....USC has had numerous fuck ups.....where there's smoke........it's coming.....too many instances to be excused.

by SoCalTrjn
numerous fuck ups?

You have one player who is the plantiff of an extortion case vs an agent not tied to the school

You have a player who paid 900 a month to rent a room in an apartment from a teammate

You have a HS kid who was misinterpeted by the LSU press which handed it to the Ferds SC haters at Yahoo and now its supposed to be an infraction.

Its not USC that is flying alumns in to meet kids to try and persuade them to decommit to another school. It's not USC whose boosters are giving kids and their families money or cars, but it's USC that's getting dog piled on by a bunch of teams who have been unable to compete on the field with the Trojans

Excuses for everything. Extortion? Are you fucking kidding us? Are you that fucking naive? Dude basically broke a verbal contract after his scumbag parents took money and housing.

Spare us the victim bullshit and face it...its coming.....one day you'll open up the morning paper or see it scroll on the bottom ticker of ESPN......maybe not tomorrow or the next day, but IT is coming.....

Cheaty Peety blames LSU fans for recruiting flap

Here's what McKnight really said... ahhhhh... I mean "misspoke" the other day.

During the Wednesday news conference, McKnight said Carroll set up a conference call so he and Curtis could talk to Bush and ease concerns USC might face sanctions.

Is SC fan calling their new recruit a "liar" and a person lacking of character???

Once again, watch the interview, and then show me at what point in the interview McKnight says that he himself spoke to Reggie Bush.
Until you can show an interview where Joe says "Pete Carroll and I spoke in a conference call to Reggie Bush" you're just making up more of your hate filled lies

You want to know why USC will always be better than Cal?

sweep it under the rug! Lot's of noise is what might prevent that. It amazes me how brazenly they will lie to cover up what the kid said. Lots of groundswell could stop them. This kind of cheating has got to be stopped.

I advise that you dont watch this one "Schmuckity"! You wanted to deal with "the truth"... now you've got your wish.

Pete's a LIAR - CLEARLY!

Joe McKnight tells the truth...

does this look like video of the kid mispeaking? He CLEARY says he talked to reggie, his coach CLEARLY says it. There is nothing ambiguous about this. Lying about it was pete's mistake. If he had told the truth it would be a slap on the wrist.

I also have another clip of him saying it to a different person... would you like to see that one too?

is a phone conversation any worse that Larry Johnson being flown in to Penn State to help in the recruitment of Broderick Green? Where are M2's 10 threads on Penn State?

Shit for brains... what does that have to do with anything? Are you now trying to say the tv station "doctored" the the film from the news conference?

It was about 60 degrees here today and sunny... with almost no wind. Which is nice since it rained for a few days in a row up 'til today.
