Today is the day. I live for this.

To me, this is the biggest sporting event of the year, bar none. What a way to start a season, with the equivalent of the Super Bowl. There's nothing quite like the thrill and excitement of seeing 43 cars, separated by mere inches, barreling down the Daytona backstretch at 185 mph.

Gonna' be tough to deny Tony Stewart the win today. I have a feeling that the #8 car will have his back all day long and escort him to that long awaited 500 checkered flag.

NFL, then baseball, then Nascar. But I'm excited. I agree about Tony. He's looking svelt (sp?) too. It looks like Jimmy Spencer found the extra pounds Tony lost.

That was a great time no doubt. I will post some pics later on this evening (not the greatest, but some came out well as guys were entering the pit road). I was hoping Martin would win it there, as were just about everyone who was still left in the crowd once #8 went out.

Hope this works. I tried to just post the images, but I kept getting the Red X. I thought I had a good pic of Bowyer's car rolling, but it came out way too dark.
