Kansas/Oklahoma

Good luck, Sooner fans!

I hope you don't have to see many Chalmer's highlights on your local newscast, Froz!

I'll be watching tonight, I went ahead and took Kansas -7.....so the Sooners are a lock tonight.

ku will most likely run the Sooners right out of Lloyd Noble. Chalmers isn't the guy that's going to be on the highlights. That Collins kid is the one OU needs to worry about.

Kansas is due for a test, though. Let's hope OU gives them one tonite.

Ummm... how? The only way Ojklahoma gives the gayhawks a run is if Branon Rush changes teams before the game.

Oklahoma has nothing.

I know I'm posting this during the game, while it's happening, but I would have posted it before the game too...

Kansas is going to butt fuck us in the mouth. Our best scorer is an undersized 4 who can't pass. Our second best scorer is undecided, but the battle for the crown looks like a bunch of retards trying to hump a greased up hockey puck during a hockey game...

Next year, especially if we miracle our way into Jai Lucas, we'll be a LOT better, but for now, we're going to have to settle for going as far as The Human Turnover, Longar Longar, takes us. We're number 66, bitches.

all too familiar scenario for OU fan this year, hard to come back on people when down to a good team in the 2X bonus (as was OU--not saying it was a poorly called game just a situational comment). being a bad shooting team, that doesn't help much either.

props to KU fan on the win.

Well, we manged to make it look respectable, but, honestly, as much as I hate to say it, even when we tied the game; and I've been at the LNC for some BIG OU / KU games, I never felt like OU was going to win this game tonight. I never felt like there was a point where Kansas couldn't just go to Wright inside and get a basket out of him, or out of Kaun on the put-back.

It wasn't a mouthbuttfucking, but it wasn't an OU win either. We're gonna be pretty darn good in about three years though...

I thought this game was horribly officiated.....and I don't mean that either Kansas or OU got screwed. The game was a mess, there were 15 total fouls called in the first 5 minutes of the second half, that's three a minute. The technical on Capel was an awful call, I can't imagine what he could have said to merit the T......unless of course he said he was going to buttfuck the ref in the mouth.

Just a horribly officiated game, there was no way for either team to develop rhythm or get into the flow of the game. Unbelievable, it's really too bad. The players for both teams played hard and it might have been fun to watch.......

that was my point above, though i expressed it poorly. i didn't think the officiating was imbalanced (or "OU got screwed")....though i do think Kaun gets away with a lot of pushing and hacking underneath....and not just this game. he grabs a lot a boards when the guy who "used to have position" is now mysteriously falling out of bounds into the row of cheerleaders. now, i guess there is an art to this....ask Ed Najera.

there were plenty of head scratching calls to go around and key possessions where the refs swallowed the whistle where there was game precedent for making a call....and as i alluded to i think the double bonus turns a lot of games into a joke. both teams were in the 2x with 12 minutes left. and as mook says, like last night, when the refs want to "set a tone" to open the second half, generally what happens is both teams are in the double bonus the last 8 minutes of the game due to the tone-setting 2-4 fouls each way they call early in the half.

besides, if a team can't make FT's and front ends....then they deserve to have to keep the other team from catching up by scoring field goals. 2x at 10 fouls seems to negate this more often than not. in principle maybe it's OK, but at 12 fouls or 15 or something. as is, big possession once teams get in the 2x with a lead you see a lot of pound it inside with not much real effort to score or run shot clock and clear out for their dribble-drive guy who takes it hard to the hole. they just stop running an O designed to score baskets, to a degree. AND, the defending team really can't defend for fear of the whistle and the parade to the line for 2 FT's.

JMO.

I only met Coach Capel twice before I left Norman. I hadn't taught him that phrase yet... :D
