mma vs. mma

Post by Mile-Hi T »

I am reletively new to MMA. I was one of those guys that MMA looked a little "queer".

I have grown to fully appreciate what this sport is all about. "The Ultimate Fighter" was the start of it for me. Since then I think that I have seen just about every UFC match.....ever!

My question to you guys is, is it just me or do the UFC fighters seem like much better fighters than everyone else?

Have have watched alot of Pride and IFC, and just watched my first Bodog fights last week.

In my eyes UFC is heads and tails above the rest. Followed by Pride, then IFC, then BODOG. Its like Pro, varsity, jv, and pee-wee..respectively.

Am I wrong?

Pride is their only equivalent. Pride's HW division is still much better than UFC's (even with Cro Cop jumping ship).

LHW is about equal (although Pride having their LHW champ getting an assbeating from their MW champ is kind of embarrassing). Edge might go to the UFC.

MW division might be better in Pride.

There is no WW equivalent in Pride. Even if there were, the UFC is stacked at WW.

LW is another toss-up that I'd give a slight advantage to UFC.

The other orgs (IFL, Bodog, Elite XC, etc.) don't matter.
