Walter Reed is a goddamned national shame.

It's a shame that transcends politics. Apparently we are so disdainful of our wounded soldiers that we cannot give them adequate care for their injuries, and we house them in filth.
Veterans hospitals (save it, I know Walter Reed is a different sort of facility) have had a similar reputation for years...centuries, really.
Any nation that doesn't care to tend their injured and sick and wounded soldiers seems to have lost the battle.
Disgusting.

This is nothing new in history. For centuries poor medical care and disease have have been a soldier's worst enemy, not arrows, swords or bullets. Considering that Bush wants to "progress" to a pre-Bill of Rights society, it should come as no surprise that his flunkies have adopted 17th century sanitation standards.

RACK THE TROOPS!
Until of course, they come home. Then, you know...fuck 'em. From the Revolutionary War to today, same old story.

Just about every President funds base hospitals well, while also cutting funding for VA hospitals and clinics. It's a shame, but their priority is clearly the soldiers who are on the payroll and not those whose fighting days are over.
Personally, while in the service I went to three different base (Orlando, Long Beach, San Diego) hospitals and all three were just as clean and sanitary as you'd find in the civilian sector. Conversely, the couple of times that I've gone to a VA clinic, both were in such shitty condition and in such shitty neighborhoods that they might as well have had a sign out front reading "Clinica Medica".
"Disgusting" is the right word.

Jeebus, is there a pile of sand you fucking tards won't stick your ostrich-heads into?

Gee, and what the fuck changed about the way Walter Reed was run back when you were in the service, and now?
Bueller? Class?
BIGFUCKINGSHOCKER: ... same time that the management of WR was turned over to...
Who?
Ohhhh.....that's right...our good friends at Halliburton/KBR/IAP.
But no...really...you tards should just keep making excuses for them and the Traitors, rather than actually
holding people accountable for treason and theft.
No, really.
Until Bush, Cheney, Rove, and the entire Boards of Halliburton and their subsidiaries are imprisoned for their FLAGRANT crimes against the American people(nevermind what they've done to foreign countries), it won't get any better.
You people accept excuses, and in a monument to moronism, you actually jump in bed with the excuse-makers, somehow thinking it makes you "patriotic"...it doesn't -- it makes you fucking retarded.
You fucking idiots actually allowed wealthy powermongers to steal money from injured/disabled veterans...these brave men and women live in fucking filth so the Bushies can control more of this nation's wealth.
It's fucking DISGUSTING, and everyone here(myself included) should be fucking ashamed of themselves for being such apathetic, thoughtless fucking assholes.
Time to take it back, people. First, all assets of Halliburton and its subsidiaries should be seized until the complete extent of their fraud can be figured. Life sentences for all guilty parties involved should be non-negotiable(save for Bush, who unfortunately is exempt from such prosecution). Executions for treason shouldn't be out of the question, either.

Actually, since I didn't know what the heck the alleged Halliburton connection was about, I googled the topic, and by golly, Walter Reed was being run since 2003 by a company called IAP, which is described in some articles as a "subsidiary" of Halliburton and headed up by a former Halliburton exec.
At the very least, IAP's privatization effort was a clusterfuck.
If IAP
is connected to Halliburton, then there's something rotten in Denmark.
Then again, incompetence, rank corruption, arrogance, and abuse of power are par for the course in this administration.

It's for the best - if still run in a socialist manner (by the army), the wounded would be stampeded by lazy Mexican prostitutes demanding free cold sore ointments.

There already is something rotten in Denmark.

I didn't know Nancy Pelosi's husband was a former Haliburton exec.
