Incredible offensive show put on by both teams...both shooting over 50% from the field...but Durant is the story in the first half with 25 points going 10 of 14 from the field and a perfect 5 for 5 from deep. Texas shot 11 of 14 from three in the first half...insane! It's debateable that their the best conference but there's no question that the Big XII has been the most entertaining league to watch.

Overall, the conference is pretty weak, but I'd stack those top 3 teams against any other top 3 from any conference in a round robin and I'm pretty sure the XII would come out on top.

tejas played their asses off, shot 80% from 3pt range in first half, 60+% for 1st half from field and was only up 12 at half.

KU wasnt sharp, but still stayed close. 2nd half ya knew the law of averages kick in and KU makes their run, and zooms by to win.

Clearly Texas lives and dies by the jump shot. They miss a guy like Aldridge to be a low post presence. They don't have the inside game to compliment their perimeter scoring. When they're on, they're tough to beat. You can just see them losing early in the Big Dance if a team can pressure their outside shooting and hold them to a low percentage.

The first game in the tourney that t.u. isn't at least better than average from the field, they will lose. They don't have much of a defense, but their offense is so potent that only a bad night of shooting will beat them.

The first half Texas played against Kansas was one of the most impressive offensive performances I have EVER seen in a college game. Their offense was lights out and, frankly, damn near indefensible. Durant was unstoppable and every decision they made and shot they took was perfect. Color me very freakin' impressed. Too bad Durant sprained his ankle in the second half, but I dont' think it made a huge difference, Kansas had already gone on their run and I think they were up 6 at the time. I hope his ankle is healthy for the B12 tourney and the NCAA's. That kid is truly a pleasure to watch play. I honestly think he might be the best freshman I have ever seen in college hoops, and I've been watching for quite a few years.

That is the dumbest thing I have read in a while. Texas is getting better and better b/c the Freshman are starting to learn how to play on both sides of the ball. Their talent alone will give them a chance to beat anyone in the tourney. They are clearly a better team than they were 2 months ago and had a shot at the outright Big XII title Saturday if it wasn't for their lack of patience when things got bad and Durant going out at the most critical time of the game. Without him at a 100%, they still had a shot to tie the ballgame at the end and their shooting was horrific in the second half. If anything, Texas is the dark horse to win it all this year.

Texas is the biggest Jeckle and Hyde major that will be in it this year. If their shit version shows up, despite their talent, they'll be lucky to make it to the round of 16. Sort of like Kansas, in recent years. I'd be happy if they made a serious run, but they're way too inconsistent. Next year, on the other hand ...

Are you kidding me??? They were riding a 7 game win streak into the Kansas game and were one half away from taking the #1 seed in the Big XII tourney. All seven of those wins were done convincingly except for the Aggies game. Although you could call that convincing if Acie Law wasn't such a freak. They are one of the best teams in the nation right now. To have KU against the ropes in Allen Fieldhouse is pretty damn impressive.

Are you going to sit here and tell me there are teams that are clear cut above the level of Texas' play right now? NC, Florida, Wisconsin, and others have struggled down the stretch. UCLA and Ohio St. are vulnerable as well. Texas can run with any of these teams and they have the most room to keep improving during the Big XII tourney and the dance. This team is starting to become less dependent upon Durant for all of the scoring now that Augustine is finding his groove. You obviously don't get "it"

OK, so your examples are NC, UFLA, WISCY, UCLA, and Ohio State. a pretty big assumption you are EVEN going to get to play one of those teams. don't get me wrong, i like UT's team and i really like Augustine.....but c'mon. you got the cart way before the horse and not every team in the NCAA is going to want "to run". You make some very good points, but the respect is not there. Dark horse I said and I stand behind that opinion. I wouldn't go calling me a UT homer; just a guy who has watched a lot of college basketball and this season and I have seen Texas improve the most since the Villanova game.

You are right in the fact that any team can win on any given night, but the law of averages suggest that the better teams almost always make it to the final four. UT is one of those better teams right now and show no signs of slowing down. Don't jump to conclusions that this is a bias opinion, cus' its not. They are just one of those teams that have "it" to win "it".
