Their was no fucking way that the Packers were going to pay that kind of $$$$$ for Ahman. The fucking Texans could of had Bush last year and they overpaid for a RB on the way down.......

This just clears the way for the Packers to draft the greatest player in the history of the world, Marshawn Lynch.

Would have like to see Green stick around for another season or two, but not at $8 million for 2007.

Its really tough to know we could have had Bush and now its even really tough to know that his replacement is a overpaid fumbling vet who is pass his prime.

It's only $3m more than last year and his contract with Houston only guarantees about $6.5m... Packers have an ace up their sleeve?

Rumor has it that they're hot on Lynch out of Cal. 'Nother rumor has them trying to deal for Bell from Detroit, but I don't see the Lions making a trade inside the division.

I'm not aware that the Pack are up against the cap so, no. An additional $3m to a RB who is just 46 yards shorts of being the all time leader in yards for the Pack isn't really that significant. Why not give him 1 more year of guaranteed money and have him split time with whomever they bring in to replace Green.. if anything, reduced reps would probably keep Green healthy and as the 2 Super Bowl teams showed.. having a dual headed attack at the RB position certainly helps..

I'm pretty sure that I read that Green wanted a multi-year deal and wouldn't sign a one year deal that was offered. Not sure what the money was like on the one year contract.

The Packers are 21 million under the cap and were in the running for Green until the last day. I thing that they did the right thing, but only time will tell.
