Wrote this somewhere else and thought it fit perfectly in this thread.

This past weekend was the 25th anniversary of a significant event in NCAA history: no, not the beginning of MJ's ascension to basketball god but more importantly, the first appearance of one of the ugliest men to ever play professional sports on the national sports stage. While he was unsuccessful during this first FF run, he would secure the brass ring before he left Gtown. Fortunately, he did not duplicate his college success in the pros, coming up short each year of his professional career. Yes, I am referring to Dr. Zaius, er Pat Ewing. 25 years ago, this primate took his place on the FF stage and now, his son, who although ugly, is mercifully not as ugly as his pappy, will take his own place on the FF stage this coming Saturday. So, this coming weekend, if you are in a sportsbar/pub or your own house/apartment/flat, peel a banana and eat it or maybe groom your loved one's hair by picking out any bugs or grubs and then eating them to mark this momentous ocurrence for both father and son.

I remember Big John refusing to take the floor against Syracuse until they took a sign down that said "kan u reed dis Pat?" only to have Bananas tossed at Pat after they took the sign down.
