something about this just seems wrong to me. no one who is a CBB fan has the expectations the writer seems to assume to have. if the point is the crushing weight of momentary fame and media hype...then OK. but, i don't like the tone of this. these guys aren't losers. a lot of very good players from CBB play in the euro leagues. why run them down like that? just because they were "America's darling" or "Cinderella" doesn't mean they owe "us" anything.

this is typical national media "if it's not the best, it sucks" journalism written by a bunch of half-wits who never read a book at Syracuse but got a good haircut. or the like. and think that the sportscenter host is the constant, not the game.

i doubt it will happen, but i hope in my lifetime the people who cover sports will write about sports again. and not bullshit psychology and "a great back story" and "a lot of great story lines" in this game. blah blah blah. if i want soap opera sports, i'll watch the NBA or the NFL.
