Some shit going down in Happy Valley

Post by Killian »

PSU, Ken, either of you guys hear anything? Supposedly envolves Justin King, Timmons, Hill and Sccirato (sp?).

There are rumors that a player's girlfriend got into a scrap with some student on the street, then the player came back with a bunch of other players, who forced their way into an apartment and went apeshit on the inhabitants.

http://www.centredaily.com/153/story/59387.html

Then, someone wrote a letter to the victims, asking them to drop the charges, and slipped it under their door:

http://www.centredaily.com/153/story/61210.html

At the end of the second article, Tim Curley (PSU's chickenshit AD) was described as telling one of the "victim's" fathers on the phone that it's "no big deal".

So what do we have here? I guess time will tell. Sounds like a player's girl got catcalled, and some of the players meted out their own justice. It doesn't sound like anyone was seriously injured. HOWEVER...you can't just break into someone's apartment and beat the shit out of them, even if it turns out it might have been deserved. It's 2007, after all - that's just not a very wise thing to do.

I know Joe's spoken to the team about it, and so have the police. I expect there to be suspensions, charges, etc. It's best to wait until more comes out...

It looks like Joe Pa is losing control of his Program. Not really, just that is what people would say about Bobby Bowden.

They've lost control, just in different ways. Are either of those guys anything beyond sideline fixtures these days? I suppose their immortal images, in and of themselves, are beneficial for recruiting purposes.

The difference is JoePa hasn't been allowing any players to play that are KNOWN to be indebted to a bookie lately. He's just a senile old fuck. Unfortunately, Bowden's loss of control of the FSU program has more to do with his piss poor character than the fact that he shits his drawers twice daily.

JoPa doesn't exactly have a sterling reputation among some of his peers.

Joe pooped his pants too. I guess if you coach for nigh on 60 years, it's bound to happen sooner or later.

If we're going to talk about Paterno/Bowden, though...we'll have to wait and see what punishment Joe metes out.

There's some sentiment floating around now that there will be felony charges. When you enter a building against the will of the owner, you are a burglar - and a felon.

Were the men invloved big contributors to the team? If there are suspensions could this harm PSU's season early on?

Since charges haven't been filed yet, it's impossible to say. However, if Justin King and Scirotto are involved, then they are definitely big contributors - they're both starters.

It's a tragedy that these fine, upstanding young men and otherwise exemplary students of PSU might have a permanent blot on their records for this single, isolated and totally uncharacteristic incident. They were probably goaded into taking this action anyway. The victims should realize all of this and drop the whole thing, in fact they should admit to the police that they made the whole thing up. It would be better for everybody.

I also think JoePa should consider removing the 'roids from the training table.

At any rate, here's a PDF of the letter that was sent to the victims by...someone:

http://media.centredaily.com/smedia/200 ... ate.42.pdf

The police are investigating this. If the AD Tim Curley had any role in the letter, he might be in trouble.

Mikey, watching the PSU linemen's performance since 1995, I'm fairly sure they're clean. They behave more like marshmallows with bristles than they do athletes.

Is there some thing new going on about a bookie or are you referring to Adrian McPherson? Or do you have teams mixed up and are referring to UF a few years back? Just curious, I try to keep tabs on all the "out of controlness" going on.

Actually, Chief, I just wanted to do a quick drive by verbal assault on Bowden the other day. Just felt like this was a good opportunity. Yes, AD was the player I had been referring to. I kinda missed my obsession with all things Bowden from a couple years ago. You'll have to excuse me!

When are stupid sons of da bitches like you gonna realize there ain't no "u" in Osborne!

Let's see a 21 and 4 record vs. Missouri has to be all crimely related, right?
Not like NU has a history of a BETTER football program than Missouri or anying, just a thug thing for ALLLLL those years right?. Spin zone much? Oh and Matt Davidson is doing work for major cable TV markets...so his catch must have been related to Lawrence Phillips, some how, some way.
25 years of thugs... gotcha jealous boy...fuck, Alcatraz couldn't accomodate that rate of return.
Try again.

Latest word has it that Justin King played the role of peacemaker. Scirotto and other players pushed into the apartment (burglary charge) and went Douchebag on the inhabitants; King came in and told them that they had to get the fuck out of there.

King's not a thug IMO; I'm hoping that this version of events holds true.

Fucking brilliant. Anyone thinking Joe was less than 100% mentally capable is sooooo wrong. I love this move. Way to keep it old school JoPa. I hope he goes 12-1 this year!

No. I also dont see Bobby going to the frat house to lead his players in a keg-throwing battle either.
