Draft Wishes

Aside from your team's NFL cheerleader tryouts, draft day is the most interesting couple o' days in the off-season.
I know trev will treat us to the tryout highlights, so let's talk draft wishes here.

What 'wishes' do you have for your team's draft ... ?

Oakland had a historically futile offense last year.
Were the players that bad, or was it the coaching and planning that made the unit suck so horribly .... ?
I think the players were pretty bad.
'We' need to to hit the jackpot on a couple of offensive draftee's.

I wish for one or two legitimate offensive playmakers.
Sitting at #1, this is possible if not likely.

The Raiders need to come out of the draft with a QB they believe in and somebody at WR or RB that can do some damage.
Since they have not done nearly enough to help the O-line in free agency, IMO, they then need to shore up the line.
If they can add a big body on the D-line or another speed rusher, that would be icing on the cake.

What are your wishes for the draft .... ?

For the Pats I would have to say that Defensive Back is the weakest position on the team. A corner and safety would be nice with the two picks in the 1st round. Their offense is loaded with Brady, Maroney, Watson, and the bunch of receivers that they signed in the offseason.

I think Defense is the name of the game all the way around. Draft an LB in the 2nd/3rd round.

Maybe a nice backup RB in the later rounds to spell Maroney at times. A bruiser type that is a project perhaps.

Of course knowing Belichick he will take a TE in the 1st round and trade the other #1 pick.

Secondary help - need to find a replacement for Dawkins that he can groom. Need to find a 3rd cornerback.
Linebacker- Trotter is likely done after this year so a MLB would be nice.
Defensive Line - run stoppers as opposed to pass rushers, which the Eagles have plenty.

Qb- time to start thinking about McNabb's replacement.

I really would not be surprised if the Packers traded down a couple of times this year to gain more picks, since they have a few key holes to fill. My wish list for GB is:

1) RB
2) S
3) WR
4) TE
5) back-up CB

I'd prefer the Lions trade down and take the best defensive player available (any position). The guy I'd want the most is Calvin Johnson but the Lions need another receiver...like they need another receiver. Nobody at their need areas is worth the #2 pick so trading down and picking up some more assets would be better. Nobody in this draft will turn this franchise around...they need more guys to fill holes. Drafting Russell and Quinn doesn't help this year since Kitna is locked in as the starter. I think drafting for depth on defensive line, linebacker or the secondary is the best route for them.

Hmmmm....for the Bills...

A FRIGGING RUNNING BACK!!!!

some offensive linesmen to protect Losman would be nice also.

Ahhh, the Bucs. Sucks that Gruden/Allen are in charge. I would prefer to draft Brady Quinn, but they wont do that b/c those two need to win now or they will be out of a job. I hope Joe Thomas is available at #4, but I doubt it. Calvin Johnson is who I think the Bucs will take even though I think 4 is too to draft a WR.
The Bucs need help at DT, DE, LB, S and OL.

I would love to see Robert Meachem still on the board when the Bolts pick.

JaMarcus Russell, Dwayne Jarrett and Ryan Khalil with our first 3 picks would be ideal, with the rest of the draft being concentrated on making our very good defense great by adding a run stuffer or 2 with a LB or 2.

Dallas needs help at free safety, and someone huge to clog the middle of that 3-4 defense. Fergusons getting up there in age and I'm not sold on Stanley as a replacement. The Boys could also use some more depth at the linebacker positions, as well as the quarterback position.

The Skins could use some actual draft picks.

defensive linemen (as in pass rushers), LB's and DB's should be Denver's top priorities.........

your a fucking idiot

they need a franchise wr, and johnson is that. putting your franchise around brady quinn? get the fuck out of here, this isnt a team that have the players to help a young qb, they need a vet qb, and a legit franchise wr to dominate games, and open the running game. johnson barring an injury will be a tons better pro than quinn, book it tard.

they havent had a #1 wr in a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. they should of dealt up to take willaims or fitzgerald, wiating and taking clayton was a stupid ass move, but what would expect with gruden and company making the selections.

chucky is a horrible judge of talent, and a marginal head coach. a offensive guy, my ass, he should be sucking kiffins dick before each game. without his defense, this team doesnt win 5 games year. gruden certainly isnt going to win with his offensive game plans.

Well, since we didn't resign Moulds for whatever reason, our #2 receiver is now Kevin Whatshisname. We also need to replace C.C. Brown. We could use a left tackle and another defensive lineman. A punter would be deece as well.

All of the above? This was a multiple choice question right?

equals the BROWNS Ignoring O-Line and D-Line for another DRAFT.

JOE FREAKIN' THOMAS right freakin' NOW @ #3.

if I see the BROWNS draft Adrienne Petersen....i will SNEEZE and she will be on IR with a dislocated shoulder...or some sort of Toe Jammmm.

Brady Quinn would not be able to BLOCK for himself....so, why abandon the Charlie Frye experiment and/or TrINT "mistake" acquisition.

.....uuuugh......

Spelling smack in and of itself may be lame, but to misspell simple words when questioning the intelligence of others is the quintessential kicking of one’s own ass. Just STFU, Felix, and post one of these:

I'd be in favor of you serving as the unofficial "spelling and grammar" policeman for the forum....

but of course, you'll have to run it past Qbert.....

See, but you have to be at least somewhat accomplished in humor and sarcasm to pull such a thing off...

Better luck next time.

given the standards you've set for both humor and sarcasm, I think those are pretty lofty goals for a bottom feeder like me...

maybe one day we can coax you to focus that acerbic wit toward something FOOTBALL related....

But somehow 2-4 isn't?

55-10 is irrelevant?

Rumor just mentioned on Detroit radio today...the Falcons might be willing to move their #1 plus two #2s and a 3rd for the Lions #2 pick because they're interested in taking Calvin Johnson. That would be an absolute steal for the Lions because they've been looking to trade down anyways.

Shoalzie wrote:the Falcons might ... because they're interested in taking Calvin Johnson.

Which would make him the most talented player in recent history to go downfield and wave his arms around screaming "I'M OPEN," while racking up 35 receptions per year.

Funny stuff.
