Our "Vision" in Iraq

The "Vision" thing has really slipped out of our hands.

Did we solicit their advice and help when we started this thing?
Strange phrase to use, "dangerously short-sighted and self-destructive"...is he referring to his predecessor's approach in the middle east, or is the irony completely unintended?
It appears that we've failed to reach our goals in the region...at least the ones that have been stated to us, as Americans.
Now we're trying to tell them, "help us, or the chaos will engulf YOU FIRST"? Boy, I bet they'll be lining up with helpful hands...
