Yeah, cool idea, but, it makes no financial sense. Yousee, we got these big metal things called ships. They are very efficient at hauling shit long distances. And get this, they already have a road built to travel on. It's called the north pacific. Maybe you've heard of it.

It is a good idea -- that part of the North Pacific is noted for being geologically stable, so knock yourselves out. I mean, it's not like the biggest earthquake since the invention of the seismograph hit right around there, or anything like that.

Build away.

Where are they thinking of putting this thing, around Nome?

If so, why the hell would you put it there? There's nothing on our side, there's nothing on their side. You can't fucking drive to Nome as it is...

If that's where it is, Dins, that's a REALLY long way away from the epicenter of the Good Friday earthquake. I don't think Nome even felt the fucker.

If that's not where they're going to put it, that's going to be a really long-ass tunnel.

Don't know where Nome is(and I'm too lazy to look), but here's what the article says:
The tunnel would run in three sections to link the two islands in the Bering Strait between Russia and the U.S.

Dinsdale is absofuckinglutely correct and rack Him.

This is aboust as brilliant as the brilliant guys who are recommending a Nuke Power plant here in the Central Valley.

Oustanding idea!
A Earthquake Zone, Windless "Soupbowl" Valley with a radical Inversion Layer for 5 months a year, Massive food source worldwide and has Southern Cals open source water main about 40 miles from the plant itself.

Was that a serious response?

I am pretty sure mankind has been making tunnels long before bridges.
