I caught a bit of the hearing yesterday on NPR. The best was Orrin Hatch. He spent his time repeatedly saying that this could have been handled better, but gee, Mr. Gonzales, you’ve done some pretty good things in your life, haven’t you? What a fucking tool.

It's not a secret that Hatch wants to be the next AG, hence the soft sell on Gonzalez. I've always hated that smarmy prick anyway. He reminds me of the guy in my sixth grade class who used to tell the teacher that she forgot to give homework.

RACK Tim Russert. A few weeks ago he had Patrick Leahy and Orrin Hatch. When Hatch was mouthing his inanities, Russert started grilling him, "would you accept a nomination as AG?"
