LJ being shopped?
With that increase in the cap- I wonder what teams can afford to pay him?

Sounds like a perfect fit for the Chiefs.War Wagon wrote:LJ isn't going anywhere.

Are the Chiefs looking to the draft for a QB? Huard had a nice season but he's a journeymen QB at best. I am suprised they didn't chase a guy like Schaub.

Very doubtful they'd go after a QB. Too many other pressing needs at CB, DT, and OL to even think about a QB right now.jiminphilly wrote: Are the Chiefs looking to the draft for a QB? Huard had a nice season but he's a journeymen QB at best.
Despite your statement that Huard is a journeyman, that's only because every team he played for had a HOF'er (Kelly and Marino) already as the starter. He never got a fair chance anywhere until now. I'll take my chances with him.
Besides that, they've got 2nd year QB Brody Croyle from last years draft whom Herm is supposedly enamored with. I haven't been too impressed with what little we got to see of him last year. We'll see, I suppose, but he just looks like a perpetual deer in the headlights thus far.
Why? The guy has one off year when he took a damn near career-ending hit and you're ready to jettison him?
Joe Montana had senior citizen-style back surgery in 1986, followed by what was essentially Tommy John surgery to his throwing elbow. He then went on to win back-to-back SuperBowls following the '88 and '89 seasons. Is Green "Joe Montana"? Maybe not, but don't be so quick to throw an otherwise solid QB on the scrap heap. He's still got plenty of football in him.

LJ will break the bank - If they could make a Ricky Williams / Herschel Walker type deal, I'd say do it.
Heard tonight that the Chiefs are looking hard at Marshawn Lynch - don't know enough about him, but I'm pretty sure he won't be as good as Micheal Bush will be.
Bush will be the steal of the draft for somebody - unfortunetly, Denver usually has a way of grabbing anyone I peg as a steal

I agree.KC Scott wrote:LJ will break the bank - If they could make a Ricky Williams / Herschel Walker type deal, I'd say do it.
This isn't the NBA, where you place just 5-8 guys into action.
In that league one guy can be HUGE, and you can also afford to mis-balance your payroll to accomodate that one huge difference-maker.
In the NFL you've got to put a reasonable team together or one difference-maker won't cut it.
This is one reason I'd prefer to see Oakland trade it's #1 pick.
Don't care to see them soak megabucks into what may or may not end up being a good investment.
Fill multiple holes instead.
Oakland is already hosed (unless they deal him .... fingers crossed) by having Moss on the tab for a cool 9mil this year.
Fuck that.
If I was KC I'd look to rape somebody as best I could, and then move on with picks at my disposal.
The Chefs ought to be in a semi-rebuilding mode, IMO.

Wig.ger, please. I shoved you in a locker when you first stepped into the SCIII NFL forum and I'll do it again if you get to lippy. I've been debugging the same program all day and every time I think I've got it done, I find something else that has to be added to it. Nice double post OC. You sure sure you're ready ready for for the the NFL NFL forum?
As fot Tr-Int, you obviously haven't been paying attention. He now has the pocket presence of Jess trying to score hotties at his high school reunion.
After what, a handfull of games? Give him some time to get his melon back on straight! Montana blew the first two years back from his surgeries. Hell, especially after the hit that Jim Burt put on him in the 1986 playoffs, that caused him to get the back surgery, Super Joe looked like Sean Salisbury out there. It was basically chuck 'n duck, even if there wasn't much of a rush on him. Everyone in NoCal, myself included, was clamoring for Steve Young. Thankfully, he ended up healing and went on to win two more rings. Trent may not, but don't be so quick to give up on a guy who's clearly shown the ability to excel in this league.
