Tip of the cap to Peavy on the 16 Ks and a wag of the finger at Hoffman...first blown save as well as his first ER of the season. Cordero, Papelbon and Wickman are the only closers now with at least 6 saves and haven't allowed an ER so far.

Jake now has two games where he racked up 16 Ks in seven innings.
Both were losses, though not his. They had this one in the bag.
